Manufacturing, Computer Aided Bio-Modeling, Linear Programming and
Optimization, Human Factors in Safety, Engineering Management
Projects
. Quality Assurance project to maximize output of height and flight time of
a paper helicopter by optimizing the critical factors affecting response
using a fractional factorial design in MINITAB. Conducted Gauge R&R
study, Cause and Effect Analysis, Response Surface design, documented
standard production process and devised SPC plan using Control charts
. Six Sigma Project for Pistachio's Dining Services: Conducted a survey to
perform Root Cause Analysis and Time study for making and serving of high
selling items in the dining services. Used DMAIC process and 5S
methodology to improve key control input and output variables which were
identified using Pareto Analysis, Histograms, using MINITAB and improved
result by one sigma level to increase the throughput by almost 17% with
current resources
. Supply Chain Modeling for Ford Gum & Machine Company Inc, Akron, New
York: Built a mathematical-model (in LINDO) to solve warehouse location
and distribution problem and recommended the placement of the warehouses'
and percentage to be distributed by each warehouse. Created a potential
cost saving of approximately 8% to 11%
. Modeled a detailed pulley assembly with dimensional tolerances and GD&T
to ensure proper assembly, using CAD software ProEngineer. Also used
parametric-variational modeling to constraint different dimensions
. Designed a keychain using a 3D modeling software RHINO considering its
manufacturability by the available tool and manufactured the part on CNC
machine by verifying tool paths and generating CNC code for the same
using MasterCAM
. Island Evacuation incase of Hurricane: Created a working simulation model
for island evacuation in case of a Hurricane using a simulation software
ARENA and reduced the evacuation time by almost 20% using current
resources
. Safety Analysis of a Food Court to meet OSHA standards by identifying and
evaluating hazards using FMEA, FTA, NIOSH lifting equation. Recommended
steps to make the food court environment safer for employees and
customers
. Re-design of a website (www.fidelity.com) by brainstorming new ideas,
sorting important ones and voting to finalize ideas by creating Virtual
Teams
. Automation of playground, a non-conventional source of energy: Did a vast
research of all the playgrounds in Mumbai, India to make them self
sufficient by designing a model producing energy in the form of
electricity
Skills
. Minitab, Rhino, ProEngineer, LINDO, Arena, ITK-Snap, PLC programming,
Basics of C, C++ and SQL
. Advanced skills in working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and
PowerPoint), MS Visio
Organizational Skills and Activities
. Finance Head of students' chapter of Indian Institute of Industrial
Engineers
. Organized industrial visits to Indian Space Research Organization and
Gulf Lubricants
. Captain of college Cricket team and Vice-Captain of Volleyball team
