. Environmental Specialist with experience at multiple automotive
manufacturing sites with a strong knowledge base in
compliance/reporting/permitting requirements of the following
programs: Title V, RCRA, CERCLA, SARA, NPDES, and SPCC regulations.
Areas of experience include implementation of environmental management
systems to ensure site regulatory compliance, environmental
remediation and decommissioning of automotive manufacturing sites,
operation of wastewater treatment systems and implementing waste
reduction programs.
. Managed the utility installation, demolition, and/or environmental
decommissioning of 3.1 million square feet at three facilities with a
cost of over $10 million. Responsible for the engineering and project
cost estimates, preparing appropriation requests, and the formal
presentation to Staff for budget approvals. Prepared bid package
specifications and selected contractors and negotiated contracts with
Purchasing for the utility installation, environmental
decommissioning, and demolition activities.
. Designed and implemented an asset recovery project for the removal of
substation transformers and switchgear, building transformers, cable
trays, electrical buss and wiring which generated revenues of 650K to
the site and resulted in the removal of PCB contaminated transformers.
. Led a multi-disciplined team in the development of ISO 14001
environmental management programs across multiple automotive
manufacturing sites and maintained certification at these sites.
. Provided leadership and direction to Chemical Management Team.
Chemical Management provided product technology, application
expertise, process knowledge, chemical monitoring techniques and
overall process cost reduction in the areas of painting, anodizing,
water deionizing, phosphating, high pressure water deburring, thermal
deburring, adhesive applying, stamping and molding.
. Led a multi-disciplined team in negotiating and implementing a number
of RCRA Facility Investigations.
SUMMARY OF WORK EXPERIENCE:
Environmental - Air
. Prepared various PTI applications, amendments and alterations for
Title V operating permit. Prepared Title V permit renewal application
and submitted permit by rule applications.
. Incorporated synthetic minor HAP language into Title V permit creating
facility-wide HAP restrictions of 9.9 tons/yr for individual HAPs and
24.9 tons/yr for combined HAPs.
. Submitted Initial Notification Reports for the Industrial Boiler MACT
and Miscellaneous Metal Parts MACT and Products Surface Coating MACT.
. Completed various reports including Title V quarterly deviation
reports, Title V annual compliance certification and Title V Air
Emissions Inventory.
. Prepared annual VOC emission reports in accordance with PTI permitting
requirements.
. Responsible for completion of stack testing of various site combustion
devices and other air emission sources including chrome plating, coal
fired boilers, regenerative thermal oxidizers, and Gasoline UST Stage
II Vapor Recovery system testing.
. Responsible for the operation of air stripping tower for VOC
contaminated groundwater and Solvent Vapor Extraction unit for the
removal of TCE contaminated soils.
. Corporate Subject Matter expert on EPCRA Title III SARA 313 and SARA
311/312 Tier II reports. Completed SARA reporting requirements for
multiple sites.
. Responsible for handling asbestos abatement projects including
selecting contractors, filing permits and coordinating waste disposal.

Environmental - Water
. Managed on-site wastewater treatment systems.

Chlorine and installed a system for the destruction of chlorine to
meet the negotiated limits.
. Selected a treatment technology for the destruction of Hydrogen
Sulfide to meet an indirect discharge permit narrative limit.
. Modified an indirect discharge permit limit for cyanide resulting in
the site returning to compliance.
. Prepared monthly discharge monitoring reports (DMR's). Managed the
collection and oversight of analyses for on-going compliance purposes.
. Supported site groundwater remediation program for the removal of
chromium contaminated groundwater.
. Developed and implemented slug control plan.
. Wrote and implemented SPCC plans at two sites.
. Wrote and implemented SWP3 plans required by NPDES permits.
. Prepared the Wellfield Protection Regulated Substances Activity
Inventory Reports.

Environmental - Solid Waste

Environmental - General
. Developed an Environmental Calendar to maintain and track compliance
at multiple sites.
. Facilitated a number of agency inspections and responses. Negotiated
to eliminate potential violations or minimize their impacts.
. Chaired site environmental incident review committee responsible for
identifying, communicating, and ensuring implementation of solutions
to avoid or prevent recurrence of non-compliant situations.
. Developed and implemented ISO 14001 Environmental Management Programs
at two facilities.
. Completed a variety of environmental reports including the Pollution
Abatement Costs and Expenditures (PACE) survey, Contingent Asset
Retirement Obligations (CAROs), and 10K Environmental Capital
Expenditures for multiple facilities.
. Completed CFATS Screening Surveys for sites in Dayton.
. Served as Industry Representative on the LEPC, MGCLERC (Montgomery and
Greene County Local Emergency Response Council). MGCLERC develops and
revises local hazardous materials emergency response plans, conducts
exercises to test the plans, receives and processes information from
facilities, makes information available regarding hazardous chemicals
and risks in the community, and conducts a compliance program.
Environmental - Decommissioning
. Responsible for the closure and decommissioning of sites in Dayton.
Closure required the auctioning of site's equipment, termination of
permits, removal of phone lines and computer equipment and shut down
of public utilities. Decommissioning of the sites involved cleaning of
pits, trenches and sumps, overhead and underground piping, elevator
decommissioning, wastewater treatment plant cleaning, removal of
aboveground and underground storage tanks, shutdown of the fire
protection systems, removal of asbestos and refrigerants.
. Responsible for obtaining approval under Ohio's Cessation of Regulated
Operations regulations for 4 sites in Dayton, OH. The Cessation of
Regulated Operations (CRO) program prevents threats to human health
and the environment by requiring businesses to remove hazardous
materials once they have ceased operations.
. Removed regulated gasoline and diesel underground storage tanks at two
sites in accordance with BUSTR regulations. Conducted a Tier I Source
Investigation on a gasoline tank removal. All tank removals resulted
in the sites receiving NFA notifications.
Health and Safety
. Chaired the Hazardous Materials Control Committee for facilities in
the Dayton region. Approved hazardous materials and maintained
approval lists by department.
. Developed and implemented a multi-facility Access database for
compiling chemical approval lists, chemical tracking reports, and
developing chemical safe use instructions.
. Responsible for maintaining, updating and developing Material Safety
Data Sheets.
. Wrote and implemented a laboratory Chemical Hygiene Plan to comply
with OSHA 29CFR Part 1910.
. OSHA 24 Hour HazMat Technician trained.
