(Manufacturer – Metal Building Components consisting of panels, purlins, trim and accessories.)

Responsibilities:

•Duties include, but not limited to: supply chain management, strategic planning, logistics, employee safety, mentoring

and coaching team members and team leaders, quality, process improvement and production scheduling,

employee evaluations, new hire screening, inventory management, training, and on site HR functions.

•Manage 75 (down from 152) team members and three team leaders at Corporate manufacturing division.

•Managing a budget of approximately $20 million dollars.

•Responsible for Lean Manufacturing implementation and training.

Accomplishments:

•Was recognized as one of the top 40 business professionals in Shreveport/Bossier City in 2008 by the Shreveport

Chamber of Commerce and the Young Professional Initiative.

•Reduced shifts from three down to one while increasing efficiencies and product throughput.

•Creation of all lean manufacturing initiatives: start-up training and "Lean Journey" beginning implementation, new

standard work and creation of SOP's, lean office layout after office remodeling, new pay for performance initiative

(Progression), creation of a visual facility layout, held numerous kaizen events in areas of improving paperwork

process in office to help reduce lead time, increasing production mills capacity, quick changeover and set up

reduction for tooling changes, reduction of raw material from four months down to less than one, eliminating all

WIP and producing orders straight to delivery trucks.

•Reduced customer lead time from five business days down to twenty four hours through dynamic scheduling aspects

of Lean Manufacturing, which allowed facility to produce and load directly to trucks.

•Reduction of overtime hours from 20% of plant’s total hours down to 2%.

•Managed Artcrete’s expansion in both the rotary die cutting production area and color blending area.

•Creation of company’s first version of Standard Operating Procedures.

•Reduction of company’s finished good WIP from two weeks down to 3 days.

•Creation of Quality Control program to analyze inbound raw materials.

•Creation of Quality Control Specifications for inbound raw materials.

•Developed a new line of concrete sealers containing lower VOC’s and higher total solids.

(January 2002 - April 2005) Project Director - The United States Department of Commerce / State of

Louisiana’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEPoL) Assisted area manufacturers with domestic and

foreign competition issues.

Responsibilities:

•Direct /Manage projects for area manufacturers. Projects included: research and development of prototypes, SAE

testing on new products, plant process improvement, Lean Manufacturing implementation and training, new

product patents, and employee training matrices.

•Public speaking engagements to market MEPoL’s services and to educate the public on government tax breaks and

grant programs.

•Perform assessments and SWOT analysis on all types of manufacturing facilities.
