World's largest land-based drilling contractor.

Director of IT Operations: Orchestrated all IT Operations projects, daily

operations, installation activities, and security, directing a staff of

more than 40. Managed network and telecommunications engineers, customer

support personnel, hardware designers and engineers, and data center

engineers. Administered annual $20-$50 million budget, 3000+ PCs, 200+

servers, 150+ locations, 600+ rigs, 2 data centers. Established strategic

direction, operational metrics, managed vendor relationships, and provided

staff development.

. Negotiated new telecom contract at Nabors with AT&T that provided for a

savings of $600,000 per year for MPLS services which also included

additional support services.

. Satellite provider carrier selection initiative to select a voice and

data network provider for the rigs between multiple carriers.

Responsibilities included the technical design as well as the contract,

pricing, SLAs, and finalizing the MSA.

. Established a co-data center in Austin. Created the design, negotiated

the contracts for the network, data center, and hardware, managed the

internal staff and external contractors to complete the implementation.

. Improved network, server, and application performance and stability by

implementing a monitoring / alerting application for system health and

availability and establishing SLAs. Communicated results to all levels of

. Implement a VOIP (IPCC) call routing system to provide for improved

customer call routing to the help desk and provide visibility so that

SLAs could be created and maintained.

. Developed disaster-prevention processes including implementation of

organization beginning with the introduction of mini-computers at primary

towers, connected 6 locations within a 17 mile radius of the tower
