A $12MM manufacturer of promotional bedroom furniture, and related
products, for major furniture retailers and wholesale distributors.
President
Total financial and operational responsibility for the company, reporting
to the Owner/CEO.
. Assumed responsibility in Sept. 2004, when this company was on the
verge of closing down due to sustained operating losses and a critical
cash shortage. The owner wanted to get the company to a condition
where it could be sold. Quickly went through the process of reducing
SGA, manufacturing overhead, material costs and inventory, as well as
selectively raising prices and pruning the product portfolio. As a
result, the company turned a profit in 2005, and was sold in 2007.
The company was sold again in September 2009 to a competitor, and the
operations were moved to their plant in Alabama.
Hi-Stat Manufacturing, Division of Stoneridge, Inc. Lexington, Ohio

A leading manufacturer of sensors, switches, and solenoid products for the
automotive and transportation industry.

Full responsibility for the 700 employee division, with sales of $90-100
million. Responsibilities include P& L, business planning and development,
new product development, quality, and manufacturing operations.
Manufacturing operations included sensor assembly, vertical integration
including a molding operation with 50 plastic injection molding machines,
and a metalworking operation.
. Grew sales from $55 million to $100 million through new product
development and increasing market share of existing product lines.
. Implemented the Toyota Lean Manufacturing System, improving efficiency,
factory costs, working capital, and reducing required floor space.
