A $12MM manufacturer of promotional bedroom furniture, and related

products, for major furniture retailers and wholesale distributors.

President

Total financial and operational responsibility for the company, reporting

to the Owner/CEO.

. Assumed responsibility in Sept. 2004, when this company was on the

verge of closing down due to sustained operating losses and a critical

cash shortage. The owner wanted to get the company to a condition

where it could be sold. Quickly went through the process of reducing

SGA, manufacturing overhead, material costs and inventory, as well as

selectively raising prices and pruning the product portfolio. As a

result, the company turned a profit in 2005, and was sold in 2007.

The company was sold again in September 2009 to a competitor, and the

operations were moved to their plant in Alabama.

Hi-Stat Manufacturing, Division of Stoneridge, Inc. Lexington, Ohio

1991-2004

A leading manufacturer of sensors, switches, and solenoid products for the

automotive and transportation industry.

1 Division General Manager

1994-2004

Full responsibility for the 700 employee division, with sales of $90-100

million. Responsibilities include P& L, business planning and development,

new product development, quality, and manufacturing operations.

Manufacturing operations included sensor assembly, vertical integration

including a molding operation with 50 plastic injection molding machines,

and a metalworking operation.

. Grew sales from $55 million to $100 million through new product

development and increasing market share of existing product lines.

. Implemented the Toyota Lean Manufacturing System, improving efficiency,

factory costs, working capital, and reducing required floor space.

Trained directly by Toyota.

. Implemented Six Sigma discipline into the manufacturing process.

. Reduced head counts during periods of growth, such that the

Sales/employee increased every year.

Engineering Manager

1991-1994

Responsibility for all engineering disciplines, including Product

product development process such that head counts were kept constant

during a time of high growth.

responsibility for achieving profitability goals, as well as growing the

business through new product programs.

. Took this business unit from a declining $19 million business to a

growing $25 million business, through new product programs.

. Developed a licensing arrangement with a German manufacturer to produce

and market their technology in the U.S. This would lead to an additional

$6 million in sales.

1988

Responsible for program management for new electronic products. This

involved meeting budgets, schedules, cost targets, and customer

requirements, as well as being the main customer technical interface.

Therm-O-Disc, Inc. subsidiary of Emerson Electric. Mansfield, Ohio

1976-1986

A leading manufacturer of temperature sensors, controls, and electrical

switches to the global appliance, HVAC, automotive, and commercial markets.

Design Engineering Manager

1982-1986

Responsible for managing a department of 19 engineers, and technicians.

Primary responsibility was to develop new electro-mechanical temperature,

pressure, and vacuum products.

Product Engineering Manager 1979-

1982

Responsible for managing a department of 25 engineers, technicians, and

support personnel. Primary responsibilities included cost improvements,

product improvements, customer technical support, and product reliability.

Responsible for various products already in production. Responsibilities

included making product modifications to accommodate new customer
