To:
I am interested in interesting you in me. I am an extremely skilled, hard working, and well rounded young man.
I’m the type of person that doesn’t believe in running from hands on work. I’m a South Carolina State
University graduate. While attending South Carolina State University, I worked various jobs, full and part-time
to pay my way through college. By doing this, it gave me a strong work ethics with an intelligent view in
problem solving and production dynamic.
My previous jobs from 1989 to 2009 have made me into what I believe is an asset to any company. I have good
quality maintenance skills on a wide variety of machines from Zigar [tap and die machine], Process Chippers,
Rex Gearboxes, Vibra Pro Conveyer, to Rockwell extended length log in feed. In addition to my maintenance
skill I have inquired a vast knowledge of stockroom capability over the years. I have help maintain and manage
the stockroom at my previous employment. As the maintenance planner I was place in the position of helping
or conducting store purchasing personal duties. The duties would include stock and non-stock PO’s, stock and
non-stock inventor data entry, parts rebuild PO’s and system check and balances for them. This was in addition
to the day-to-day duties of the stockroom and my affairs as the maintenance planner.
In my 20 years in the work force I have come to believe that an industries future depends on its ability to react
fast with the correct and most reliable answer to it production and maintenance problem. For roughly seven
years I’ve been the Maintenance Planner for International Paper Sampit Lumber Mill / Simpson Lumber, where
I was exposed to a manufacturing system call SAP [System Analysis and Program Development] and Guardian .
The understanding and ability to setup and drive Programs of this nature in addition to strong maintenance
knowledge is what I am offering your company as one of its employees.
I hope this letter has ignited your interest in me along with my abilities, skills, and knowledge. I’m very
interested in joining your company and I look forward to hearing from you.
Enclosed with this letter is my resume.
Sincerely,
Dexter D. George

Industrial Technology and/or Technology Education
http://www.csmet.scsu.edu/Indust_Majors.htm
Industrial Technology and/or Technology Education is designed to foster the development of a strong
foundation in the skills, knowledge, and attitudes regarding technical maters that are needed for industry and to
prepare persons to teach Technology Education in the public schools. The curriculum includes a comprehensive
course of study in which the technical subjects are closely correlated with general education, the sciences, and
humanities & fine arts, with an emphasis on understanding of the relationships of these areas to the
technological processes of industry. The program is tailored to the individual student's background, interests,
and objectives, and is planned to provide a solid foundation for the teaching profession as well as industry. The
outcome of either program is to produce graduates with a more conceptual understanding of technology and its
place in society who are rich in communication and technological experiences. The program should be planned
in cooperation with the advisor.
