GRISWOLD TOOL & DIE, INC, Union City, MI ? 1988-2009
Multi-divisional diversified company serving the aerospace, medical,
automotive, and construction industries with precision machined parts,
tooling, machines, injection molded components, and hot-dipped plastic
coatings. Product lines included hydraulic cylinder parts, IV hooks,
hospital bed components, rubber heels for walking casts, gas line
components, surgical irrigation tips, injection molding machines and molds,
oxygen system components for aircraft, and stamping dies.
Operations Manager 1999-2009
Directed entire operations of the company's divisions with up to 15 direct
reports; expanded and diversified product lines to soften economic impact
during a downturn in the economy. Implemented lean principles such as, 5S,
JIT, Kanban, and Value Stream Mapping to further company's financial
position. Developed and coordinated a yearlong expansion plan to a new
building to accommodate business growth. Formulated operating budgets,

Design Engineer / Office Manager 1988-1998 (part time from 1990-1998)
Designed products, injection molds and die sets to customer specifications;
updated, and maintained engineering records for company's line of injection
molding machines. Answered phones, met with customers, along with general
bookkeeping. Organized sale of partial assets to Electri-Tec during
economic down turn in 1990.

flat glass neon signs, "OPEN" signs, "Star Trek" Borg Disks, and Deco Neon.
Project / Design Engineer
Converted customer artwork into conceptual design drawings for approval.
After approval, converted concept into working drawings and plant floor
documentations. Programmed CNC water jet machine to cut intricate channels
in plate glass for sign gasses. Analyzed production problems in relation to
assigned projects. Collaborated with team members on projects and problems
when needed. Fabricated prototype vacuum form molds for sign cases.
Maintained divisions Novel and Unix servers along with T1 and leased lines
to other divisions.

material handling racks, retail display fixtures, and vehicle equipment.

Designed innovative racks and displays using information provided by the
sales team and customer meetings. Designed displays in an astatically
pleasing fashion with emphasis on minimal use of space.
