for in-house Machine Shop for over 400 stainless steel, aluminum, and

titanium components for surgical hand-piece assemblies, utilizing: CNC

lathes/mills, 5-axis milling machines, EWC, center grinders, laser-marking,

anodizing, passivation, polish/tumbling, sandblasting/buffing, and heat

treating. Investigate/close NCs (Access/Trackwise), Inspect

parts(GD&T/InfinityQS); Complete PPAP/PSW for new program launches, Perform

Gage R&Rs using Minitab; Issue/approve ECR/Deviations using Windchill;

Support raw material inspections, Create CFMEAs/Control Plans, Perform

operations audits, Support Supplier development/quality.

Position: Manufacturing Plating Engineer ['04-'07], Manufacturing Stamping

Engineer ['99-'04],

Responsibilities: Support production engineering initiatives for

shock/strut rod production, utilizing three chrome plating lines (two

sidearm platers and one hoist plater), three cutoff/friction weld lines,

and multiple piston weld lines. Support stamping department initiatives:

uptime, scrap, efficiency, quality, delivery, and safety. Supervise

stamping department consisting of 5 press lines, 6 operators, adhesive

spray line, and parts washer line. Manage new die procurement and product

launch per QS-9000 procedures.

Accomplishments:

. $100,000 saved by installing new metallic impurities purification system

for 840 chrome sidearm plater line

. $250,000 saved by installing new plating/etch titanium tanks for HEEF

chrome hoist plating line

. $450,000 potential savings by consolidating two stamping departments into

one

. $17,000 saved per year by eliminating adhesive bonding process

. $20,000 saved by retrofitting feeder with new servo-drive unit (vs.

buying new feeder)

new molds. Review and approve preliminary/final mold designs. Follow mold

manufacturing progress with local mold vendors. Schedule trials for new

molds. Coordinate changes to molds and processes to secure mass production

approvals. Company operated 20 injection molding machines (150 to 1500

tons) with Star-Seiki robots.

Accomplishments:

. Launched 6 new molds: 3 for Honda Accord headlight; 3 for Toyota trunk

lid reflector

. Developed/implemented QS-9000 procedures for tool engineering section

DENSO MANUFACTURING MICHIGAN, INC. (Battle Creek, MI) 1986 - 1995

Position: Advanced Design Engineer ['93-'95]

Responsibilities: Request quotes, order, and follow manufacturing status

of new molds/dies. Secure mass production approval for new model start-up

molds/dies. Complete detailed mold/die drawings (CAD/manual) to secure

mass production approval for new molds/dies, design changes, and repairs.

Operation had 15 injection molding machines from 300 to 1000 tons using

Star-Seiki robots, and 7 stamping presses from 60 to 500 tons

Accomplishments:

. Launched multiple HVAC molds/dies for Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep, Honda,

Toyota, Mitsubishi, Mazda, and Suzuki

. $20K saved by retrofitting obsolete mold with new details for new

Honda Civic model start-up

. Managed mold/die PM program for over 150 molds/dies located both in-

house and with local vendors
