Phelps Manufacturing (Dell Computer) - Nashville, TN June 2000 - June

Dimension PC manufacturing for North America.

NPI Project Quality Engineer

. Responsible for managing the NPI (DFx) design and development quality

efforts and production of Dell Dimension PC computers -- including

manufacturing of all chassis' (injection molding, sheet metal stamping,

die casting, etc.) NOTE: This was Dell's first attempt at designing a

completely 'screw-less' PC assembly -- in order to reduce, touches,

errors and cycle times.

. Managed production 'lean' improvements, including -- time studies,

process flow evaluations, cycle time optimizations, bottleneck

reductions, etc.

. Managed all NPI quality requirements (FMEA, PPAP, etc.) and restructured

quality methodology for improved practices.

. Global vendor interface during NPI projects. Managed JIT and Supplier

Managed Inventory logistics.

Result: Factory production ramped up from 5,000 to over 20,000 units per

day in 6 months.

Applied Materials - Austin, TX May 1999-May 2000 (contract)

World's largest manufacturer of semiconductor wafer fabrication systems

($15 Billion annual production volume).

Manufacturing Engineer

. During a 400% production increase, was tasked with outsourcing

manufacturing production of system modules in efforts to minimize cycle

time burden to internal factory production.

. Project managed all strategic and tactical levels of outsourcing

project.

. Conducted vendor quality and throughput audits; FAIs; delivery

scheduling; etc.

Result: Internal manufacturing throughput increased by over 400% in 10

months.

NPI Product Engineer

. Responsible for the development and introduction of new medical and high-

tech products.

. Managed all elements of product development (product design, tooling,

packaging, BOM structure, etc.); vendor management & material

qualifications; customer product quality; manufacturing process

. Drove factory line modification to incorporate 'Class 10,000' clean room

environment under cGMP quality standards.
