Hanley Group Derivatives Trading Center: Commodities and Derivatives
Trading
Traded the EURUSD market on a short term basis, utilizing fundamental and
technical analyses, executed through an FXCM simulation account. Developed
money management skills by building a trading plan, trading logs and
setting capital preservation parameters.
Davis Center for Portfolio Management: Active Equity Management
One of 15 students selected to participate as an analyst for the University
of Dayton's $9 million student-managed endowment fund. Researched the
healthcare and telecommunication sectors using Bloomberg, ValueLine,
Baseline, StockVal, and S&P Stock Reports in order to produce superior
results for the portfolio. Applied fundamental pricing and risk assessment
techniques for our current holdings as well as potential replacement
securities. Flyer Investments ranks in the top 10 largest undergraduate
student-managed portfolios.
Options and Futures Markets
Obtained a theoretical foundation for the pricing of derivate securities
and for designing risk-management strategies using option pricing models,
hedging techniques, and trading strategies.
Advanced Financial Accounting
Studied the principles and procedures in accounting for specialized uses in
business combinations, consolidations, government and not-for-profit
entities, multinational companies, and foreign currency transactions.
RELATED EXPERIENCE
Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland - Internship (May-August 2009)
Cleveland, OH
Interned in Financial Support Services and rotated amongst 5 different
functional areas: Budget, National Billing, Expense Accounting, Purchasing,
and Strategy. Performed budget benchmarking analysis at a System and Bank-
wide level in critical business lines. Constructed a new report for Bank
management showing an overview analysis of budget variances for business
lines. Performed daily balancing of various current expense and balance
sheet accounts. Compiled results from 2nd Quarter Employee and Customer
Feedback Surveys, performed trend analysis, and prepared a report for
management with conclusions of the survey.
