Hired to architect database replacements and improvements for legacy
systems (System i file-based legacy stores and SQL Server stores) and to
introduce dimensional database analysis and reporting environments in the
organization. Database environment consists of DB2 for i as well as SQL
Server 2005.
Hired to lead the development and upgrade of work force skills in the
Database Development team.
Evaluated requirements for the new data repositories and conducted gap
analysis to compare needs with existing application and database stores.
Directed the analysis, design and development of new database structures
and led the development of the enterprise data dictionary and documented
those data structures and data dictionary using Embarcadero's ER/Studio.
Directed the conversion of database structures and programs from SQL Server
2000 to SQL Server 2005 for home-grown and third party operational
databases.

structures in support of the project. Managed a team of developers, partly
offshore.

Job Shop Manufacturing System
Designed and managed the development of a job-shop manufacturing system for
EDCO (document conversion company, MO) - consulted for client on production
management, software systems design and programming.
Personal responsibilities in the project were for Requirements Analysis,
Architecture of the system, Architecture of the Database, Application
Design and Project Management. Developed the database structures in support
of the project. Managed a team of business analysts (in country) and a team
of developers (offshore).
Technologies used: UML/Enterprise Architect, .NET tools, particularly
VB.NET, and SQL Server 2000.
Energy Systems
Created energy accounting system for AECI (MO) electric cooperative using
VB 6 and SQL Server 6.5 database server.
Designed and developed meter inspection subsystem and LIHEAP (Low Income
Home Energy Assistance Program) subsystem for City Utilities of Springfield
(MO) - integrated with existing CIS+ (Customer Information System -
developed in VB 6 using Oracle database backend.
Personal responsibilities in both projects were the analysis and design of
the application (modules) and the data structures required for
implementation as well as the integration of these modules with the
existing applications. In both cases, managed the programming (offshore)
and the integration teams.
Not-for-Profit Web Portal Development
Planned, designed and developed international non-for-profit Web portal for
secure registration and delivery of services for Students In Free
enterprise (SIFE, MO) .
