Production Support Engineer
As a Support Engineer in Voice portal team, Retail Portfolio. I support
Retail Voice Portal Production Support. I do the regular health checks
and troubleshooting part and mainly work on Unix/Linux boxes. Apart from
that have a good knowledge in Unix Shell scripting and prepared few
scripts to automate the health checks for my current team CCMS (Customer
Contact Management Support)

3. The Voice Portal is a compilation of servers and applications with
a speech recognition engine thorough the voice portal for customer
self service options.
4. Retail Market Voice Portal.
5. The Retail Market Voice Portal application is a speech recognition
system. It will allow customers to speak and request information
orally. The goal of RMVP is to improve the customers experience and
productivity with an automated system.
6. CIS (Contact Intelligence Service)
7. It's a gateway to most of the backend legacy systems. It offers
multiple transactional services to most of the client applications.
Responsibilities:
. We Automated a Shell script which will check the health of all the
Voice genies and OSRs which we support. Understanding how the LDAP
protocol and API's works for Interoperability.
. We automated a shell script which will be giving the Health Check
for all the application servers. Like it will be checking the
connection pools are up and whether the application is running fine
or not.
. Used the VERIZON's mainframe application to create IR's, log the IR's,
close them, reroute them.

development team for resolving critical issues.

. I prepared a shell script which wills shows which Voice Genie
server has taken how many calls and which servers haven't taken any
calls so that depending on the report we can act on it. For this
first we use IBM DB2 client which is catalogued to the DB servers
which we support.
. Also prepared a shell script which will find out whether any of our
servers is undergoing any errors which may land up to an OUTAGE. To
avoid any Outage, I prepared a shell script and placed it under
CRON to run it and give us the o/p for every 3 hrs or so.
. We also validate others shell scripts by using the BTNs (Business
Tel Num) in our script and try to do the regression reports. Also
the script covers the report where it will display only the ERROR.
. I do have extensive knowledge on Sql where we use to check the
reports.
. The Voice Portal team has the responsibility for Voice Portal
hardware, Application RMVP, troubleshooting and Vendor
Coordinaton.Once the Voice Portal team has identified the problem,
it will be the responsibility of the my team to gather and
coordinate the required parties, example Voice Genie or Voice
Portal, to isolate and resolve the problem, from the hardware or
software vendors to the respective development groups. A conference
bridge will be established by the voice portal team member for all
communication/discussions.
