I was responsible for managing a staff of software engineers developing
802.11 wireless network clients software for Windows 9x/NT/2k/XP and
Linux. I worked with senior management, marketing, partners and customers
to define/negotiate software features, timelines and resources. I executed
projects according to an engineering methodology from product
requirements, concept commit, functional pecifications, execute commit,
development, testing and release. I worked with other engineering groups
to define interfaces. Daily activities included reviewing and ranking of
staff members, reviewing product requirements and specifications, resource
allocation, projects estimates, interfacing with marketing to define and
negotiate features and timelines, and working with customers like Intel,
IBM, Dell, HP, Toshiba, NEC and others to address feature requirements and
technical defects.
Lead Software Engineer: 1996 - 2000.
Established and lead a team of software engineers that developed software
for a new line of wireless network client devices. I was responsible for
technical architecture, design, implementation, estimates and scheduling.
Designed and developed network device drivers for several 802.11 wireless
network devices for Windows 9x/NT/2K/CE. Developed software applications
and diagnostic utilities. Tools and languages used included MSDEV, DDK,
C/C++, 8086 assembler, MFC, MS Project and Visio. Worked with Microsoft
engineers to define the wireless NDIS OID interface for Windows 2000.
Received several trade magazines product awards. Worked diligently to
introduce our products to the market months ahead of the competition.

As a lead member of the technical architecture team, I was responsible for
the technical architecture of a large scale, distributed client/server
business application. Responsibilities included defining system topology,
determining distribution strategy, LAN and WAN requirements, estimating
capacity requirements, establishing development guidelines, coding
standards and proof of concepts, managing system hardware, software and
network components, advising and managing the development teams,
specifying and customizing third party tools and products, and installing
databases and tools. Wrote custom software for MS Windows, middle-ware
software for a client/server application under MS Windows and HP-UX in a
TCP/IP and packet switched WAN environments. Used BSD sockets, WinSock and
X.25. Wrote client processes for Sybase under HP-UX, using SQL dblib, C
UNIX scripts and Power Builder. Other responsibilities were, Applicants
