Major accomplishments: Implementation of ADP payroll system; added

by 1.4% through plan re-design; changed 403(b) plan from annuity based to

Montclair Hotels & Resorts: 1998 - 2007
Director of Human Resources
Manage all human resources functions for 2000+ employees at 14 non-union
and 4 union hotels in Wisconsin, Illinois, California, Washington and
Tennessee. Manage a staff of 9 Human Resource professionals. Responsible
for new acquisitions, including payroll set-up and installation,
establishing benefits, and preparing employees for new management and
assimilation into Montclair's culture. Locally responsible for all aspects
of Human Resources for 2 hotels with 400+ employees. Responsibilities
include maintaining corporate culture, union avoidance, Affirmative Action,
compensation and benefits, recruiting, safety, employee relations, training
and payroll.
Major accomplishments: Cultural transition from prior ownership to
Montclair ownership; maintained union-free environment at all hotels
acquired without unions; developed Affirmative Action program, OSHA safety
training programs, and new recruiting programs to attract employees in a
tight labor market. Redesigned vacation plan resulting in significant cost
savings; negotiated substantial cost savings with payroll provider;
achieved significant health insurance cost savings and greater employee
satisfaction with the health insurance plan; kept health insurance cost
increases to both employees and the company to below 5% per year;
HR/payroll system upgraded from DOS to Windows; and successfully challenged
unemployment and discrimination claims.
Oshkosh Northwestern: October 1996 to September 1998

recruiting, safety, employee relations, training and payroll for 200+
employees.
Major accomplishments: Maintained high employee morale through 2 changes
of ownership; implemented dental insurance plan; redesigned vacation plan
resulting in yearly savings of $20,000; redesigned 401(k) plan resulting
in yearly savings of $35,000; established FMLA, EEO and unlawful harassment
policies; implemented Ceridian integrated human resources/payroll system;
successfully challenged all unemployment compensation claims; and
participated in due diligence for the sale of the company.
