Bank. SunTrust Bank's most direct corporate parent was established in 1891 in Atlanta, Georgia,

where its headquarters remain. SunTrust operates approximately 1,700 bank branches across

Southern states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Mississippi, North

Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington, DC.

Project

a) Case System Inventory

Location – GA, USA

Duration – Dec 2007 – Till Date

Case System Inventory application provides a single integrated solution for gathering, managing

and tracking and reporting on information specific to investigation of suspicious activities that

include fraud and money laundering to the intelligence and investigation department of bank. The

application handles an alert from its inception till closure, moving from one person to another

across different sub departments, which can include filing of suspicious activity report to FinCEN

and carrying several follow ups by the bank operation department.

This is a complex project which demanded good analytical skills to analyze different possibilities

at each level.

The application has an internal Oracle 10g database but in order to support reporting an external

Db2 database is also maintained which is kept in sync with the internal database.

The project also involved testing of data migration from SQL database to DB2.

Application – Java based application.

Backend – DB2, Oracle 10g

Migration Testing – Data transfer from SQL database to DB2.

My responsibilities included but were not limited to the following

a) Test lead with 5 - 8 team members based at off shore.

b) Carry test planning, strategy and approach formulation.

c) Effort estimation, Status reporting and project handling.

d) Requirement analysis and requirement traceability matrix formulation.

e) Test case review and finalizing them in QC.

f) Test case execution on functional and data migration side. This includes CSI application and

DB2 verification in conjugation with other interfacing applications.

g) Defect management through QC and conducting defect board meeting.

h) Liaison with business and dev team over issue and requirement resolution.

i) Liaisons with clients to enable them carry out CAT testing and getting sign off.

j) Ensuring all testing processes and methodologies are adhered to.

k) Provided training sessions to new BA, clients and Production support team on the

application.

l) Participated in job aid creation for end users.

m) Assisting the BA in gathering requirements for the next phases.

b) Regression Test Suite Creation

SunTrust has a number of applications catering to the on line banking needs for its customers and

in house use for mortgage department.

SunTrust added new facilities and features to the online banking solution and it required thorough

and extensive regression testing for every release. However, the bank did not have any test case

for online banking. Was given the task to analyze the On line banking site and its interfacing

applications to identify scenarios to be tested and to define scope of the project. The aim was to

come out with test cases which can be used for regression testing and also could be leveraged for

automation in future.

Application – Web based applications on Java, ASP.Net

My responsibility included but not restricted to

a) Was the off shore lead for the project looking after a team of five members.

b) Carried project management activities of project tracking, status reporting, test planning and

strategy preparation.

c) Liaison with other teams and third party vendors to arrange for knowledge transfer sessions

to understand the architecture and applications in the online banking solution suite.

d) Analyzed the system and came out with a document highlighting the degree of functional

coupling\impact of each application with online banking. This document was leveraged in to

determine participating and non participating applications in future releases and also helped

us to define the scope of regression test suite.

e) Analyzing the identified applications to come out with high level requirements and scenario

matrix and getting sign off on the scope.

f) Participated in test case preparation, reviewing test cases written by other team members and

identifying the right candidates to be considered for automation.

g) Requirement analysis and requirement traceability matrix formulation.

h) Wrote and reviewed test information documents which were to fill the gap for absence of

information for testing team.

i) Provided knowledge transfer to regression testing team and automation team.

j) The success of this project resulted in us getting similar requests for mortgage applications.

The GAP Inc is a leading US clothing retailer which consists of popular brands like Gap, Banana

Republic and Old Navy. All the online orders are processed from their fulfillment center based in Ohio.

Gap Inc. Direct's fulfillment centers are the heart of their merchandise distribution system. In addition to

shipping orders to customers and processing returns, the automated system also handled the receiving of

merchandize from vendors across the globe.

Project Scope

The project involved testing enhancements and changes to their online fulfillment processes to expedite

processing of orders for holidays of 2007. The scope covered testing of a UI which enabled floor

managers to control allocating the numbers of chutes\tracks for a specific brand, changes to the picker

stickers and Invoices.

System – ASP.NET, Unix

Database – Oracle 8i

a) Requirement analysis and effort estimation.

Herbalife International is a global nutrition, weight-loss and skin-care company with its corporate

headquarters in Los Angeles, USA. The company distributes its products in 72 countries through a

network of 1.9 million independent distributors, who earn profit on product sales and additional

commission from a multi-level marketing (MLM) compensation structure.

Project Scope

The project involved testing the complex compensation management for the distributors. Herbalife

Operates in more than 70 countries with varying business and legal requirements. Initiation of operation

in new country used to come with its own business and legal requirements. The testing scope involved

identifying all relevant scenarios followed with extensive data set up and testing for new country opening

or changes to existing business logic. The testing also involved testing of distributor Profile management

using Oracle ERP system and a web based application called Phoenix.
