The C-Corporation harvested timber on 35,000 acres and sold it in Japanese
markets. Revenues were going to radically decrease as most of landholdings
had been harvested. Additionally, the Corporation's $20 million Investment
Portfolio had little oversight.
Hired to determine new direction for Corporation, acquire new Businesses
(M&A), improve shareholder relations, bring oversight to its Investment

AT&T wanted to acquire McCaw Cellular. The Department of Justice (DOJ)
would not approve this transaction unless AT&T agreed (Consent Decree) to
open the new National Cellular System to long-distance "equal access" via
competing interexchange carriers (IXCs).
