Robert C. Walker-Smith was selected as Senior Account Executive at Modern
Marketing Concepts on September 24, 2007. He is responsible for achieving
sales and profitability objectives for major manufacturing clients in the
HVAC/R industry whose portfolio value exceeds $228 million dollars. He
reports directly to the Division Vice President/General Manager and has a
direct advisory relationship to the President and Founder & Chief Executive
Officer of the company.
Prior to his current position, he spent a brief time in a non-profit
organization and served in the field of higher education for seven years
with a focus on minority students. He served as Director of the North Star
Center at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT). As Director, he was
responsible for improvement of recruitment, retention and graduation of
African American, Latino American and Native American (AALANA) students at
RIT. He reported directly to the Assistant Provost for Diversity with
advisory reporting relationships to the Vice President of Academic Affairs,
Vice President of Student Affairs, academic deans and other senior
administration personnel.
Prior to joining RIT, he served as Associate Dean of Enrollment Management
& Student Life for the Rochester Educational Opportunity Center at the
State University of New York College at Brockport. During his tenure, he
managed seven (7) administrative offices in the areas of admissions,
counseling, employment placement, registration & records, information
technology, judicial affairs, and student life. He was also responsible
for advocating with state representatives to increase state funding for
strategic initiatives.
He also serves as President and Founder of Mission Possible Consulting
Solutions, a private consulting company he established in 2009 whose focus
is identifying solutions for organizational challenges in non-profit
organizations. A principal project of Mission Possible Consulting
Solutions includes his work in the area of minority student success in
private, White higher education institutions.
He has served on several boards in the Rochester area, including, Perinatal
Network of Monroe County, Anthony Jordan Health Center, The Advocacy
Council of Rochester, SeniorsFirst Communities & Services and Kirkhaven
Nursing Home.
He completed his bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management from
Roberts Wesleyan College in June 1995.
