About 600 commodities are procured from about 60,000 vendors. One of the

challenges faced by organizations procuring at such a large scale is in

establishing an efficient and accurate means of capturing and reporting

procurement data. Key procurement information like what Microsoft buys, which

vendor it buys from, who at Microsoft is responsible for buying a particular

commodity and what the long-term relationship with a particular vendor. This

can aid the Procurement Managers at Microsoft in making informed business

decisions. Procurement can leverage this information for Managing a Vendor,

Managing a Commodity and Preparing for negotiations. Vendor and commodity are

two key data elements that are essential in identifying spend within Microsoft

by commodity and vendor as well as proactively managing commodities and

vendors going forward. Existing reporting solution did not contain vendor or

Microsoft was in the process of revamping its career site. This project dealt

with enhancing the career site of Microsoft. New career site were dot net

based and their requirement of data was also very much different from

previously existing site. So lot of changes was required in the existing

interfaces as well as new interfaces also were required for new site to work

satisfactorily. These interfaces were used to make the raw data existing in

the SQL Server compatible with the requirement of the new career sites.

Nightly Batch Jobs were run to reflect the changes in all the relevant

databases and warehouses. These batch jobs were nothing but the customized

windows commands that are used to execute stored procedures, send the

success/failure message to concerned authorities and log the error messages.

achieve the printing of the Policy Pages.

The scope of this project was to provide technical consulting services in the

transformation of company's core policy administration application from

Mainframe Environment (Vantage) to a distributed Open System Environment

(Navisys). It included design, construction, UAT and implementation of the

Policy Pages module.
