Dear Sir/Madam:

Thank you for taking the time to consider me for a position with your company.

I am a design engineer with more than twenty years of experience. I am currently seeking employment in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas,

area where my wife is employed with Fannie Mae. I have attached my resume outlining my extensive design experience and

expertise.

Some of the highlights and accomplishments in my engineering career that best illustrate my diverse experience are:

1 5 I worked at the General Motors and Ford design studios as a lighting consultant assisting in the exterior lighting design during the

initial stages of new vehicle development, which was fundamental in keeping the lighting products within functional, legal, and

manufacturing parameters as well as within given financial constraints.

1 6 My design and development of tail lights for the Chevrolet Trailblazer revolutionized the four color molding process and the use of

an injection molded circuit board assembly.

1 7 I worked as a production supervisor for an assembly line and cell for the Chevrolet Cobalt headlamp, training and supervising

production workers in performing various assembly tasks for a multi-station assembly line and assembly cell including critical

quality control stations, stepping in during a time when a lack of personnel resources required me to train and supervise the lamp

production as well as serve as the quality engineer, product engineer, and maintenance technician to avoid delays and work

stoppage at the plant where the Cobalt was assembled.

1 8 Calling on my real estate appraisal experience, I developed a new key lock box for Techtronic Industries that will operate with a

standard keypad or with a remote key fob similar to the automobile door lock key fob.

1 9 Most recently, I created a fully developed 3D model of a new Ryobi 18V HID spotlight including two over-molded housing halves

and all the internals, a project originally quoted for two months with a quick expedition request from the customer. I had the

design completed in less than five days and the over-molded housing data approved by the tooling source and ready to begin

cutting steel in less than two weeks, a performance which led to insuring Techtronic Industries landing a multi-million dollar

business client.

I have had a variety of work and life opportunities that have provided experience in many different areas including management,

hands-on training, clerical, and customer service, as a result my work in the product engineering/industrial environment and real

estate appraising. I have worked with various computer programs including Lotus Notes, Excel, Word, Power Point, Pro-Engineering,

Unigraphics, Solid Works, A La Mode and ACI appraisal specific programs, and a variety of additional programs. My employment

experiences, including the co-ownership of CR Appraisals, have allowed me to develop skills in customer care, time management,

organization, attention to detail, prioritizing, meeting deadlines and quotas, and dealing with people in high stress situations, both

positive and negative.

An important aspect of my professional and personal experience that does not appear as regular employment on my resume is my

experience as a professional baseball scout. I have been a contracted recommending scout for sixteen years, working with the

Kansas City Royals and the Atlanta Braves professional baseball organizations. I have been involved in the scouting, appraising,

and contract negotiating for several young men that have gone on to careers in professional baseball as well as assisting many high

school students in finding opportunities to attend college while playing baseball. I have coached baseball at several levels from the

youngest players to semi-professional teams. This experience has been an extremely useful aspect in my development of my

exceptional “people skills.”

In addition to formal employment experiences, I have worked voluntarily on many school, church, and community projects and have

volunteered on projects with national and international human service organizations.

I have always taken pride in being adaptable and enjoy challenging opportunities. I enjoy working with people and being a part of a

successful team. I look forward to the opportunity of being a part of your professional team!

Sincerely,

Richard A (Rick) Benefiel
