experience in Oracle, Sybase, and SQL Server databases on a variety of

platforms. Only considering positions in the Arizona vicinity.

EXPERIENCE

Feb. 2009 - Present: Oracle DBA, ATS

. Migrated 24 stand alone databases to Oracle 10g RAC. Created new

databases on RAC. Updated Oracle databases from 9i to 10g.

. Developed daily RMan process to duplicate test databases from production

databases. Maintained and monitored database RMAN backups.

. Supported applications development cycle and new release. Developed SQL

code and supported daily requests.

. Used Grid control and TOAD to monitor and tune Oracle databases and SQL

statement performance.

. Managed and monitored disk usage and allocated tablespaces.

. Performed very minimum MS SQL Server DBA work.

Oct. 2006 - Feb. 2009: Sr. Oracle DBA, Coventry Health Care, Phoenix

. Managed and administrated 9i and 10g Oracle databases up to 1.8 TB.

Upgraded and migrated several Oracle 9i databases and First Rx

applications to 10g RAC. Created and cloned 9i and 10g databases.

. Upgraded Data Guard databases to 10g. Created physical standby database.

Monitored the standby databases refresh.

. Used RMAN to backup databases, and restored databases. Performed extract

data, export and import as needed.

. Worked with core development to tune databases and queries by using AWR,

Statspack, and Explain Plan.

. Created application users and managed security auditing.

. Administrated, installed, configured, migrated, upgraded and patched

First Rx applications.

Nov. 1999 - Jan. 2006: Sr. Client/Server DBA, Alverno Information Services,

. As principal senior DBA on Oracle 7.x/8i/9i/10g, Sybase ASE

11.03/11.5/12.0/12.5 and MS SQL Server 6.5/7/2000 on Unix, Windows and NT

platforms, led the support of major Oracle and Sybase databases in the

organization (Peoplesoft HR Payroll System, Physician Management System,

11i (Oracle Finance, HR, Pay Roll).

. Developed Unix scripts and Sybase bcp to transfer and manipulate data

between different systems. Wrote Unix scripts to maintain and monitor

databases. Monitored and controlled user access.

Worked on database design and modeling using PowerDesigner.

Supported developers in writing SQL scripts, stored procedure, designing

and building up database objects.

April 1997 - Aug. 1998: Senior System Analyst/Oracle DBA, Avantec Inc.

(CRO), Indianapolis

As Oracle DBA (with Oracle 8i on Unix) in FDA-regulated environment,

created all kinds of Oracle objects, controlled user access privileges,

developed Unix scripts and utilized SQL*Loader to transfer and manipulate

data between different systems, tuned up SQL statements.

Migrated database from MS Access to Oracle, designed database model with

PowerDesigner-DataArchitecture, and developed clinical trial applications

using MS Visual Basic as front end and Oracle as back end (Wrote design

specification, test scripts and release authorization).

Performed stored procedure, SQL and PL/SQL programming on UNIX and Windows

NT.

Worked with end users in designing and creating reports and tuning up SQL

statements using MS Access as front end from Oracle databases in order to

augment business functions.

Feb. 1996 - April 1997: System Analyst / Consultant, Premier Solutions

Inc., Indianapolis

Performed Oracle, SQL Server, NT server administration - installed Oracle

on NT Server; created primary database and objects; modified database

structure; enrolled users; backed up and recovered database; administrated,

maintained and monitored Oracle Server, SQL Server; backed up databases and

NT Server daily.

Used Oracle, MS Access, MS ADT, ODBC and MS Project to develop Time

Tracking System. Migrated the database from SQL Server to Oracle, and from

MS Access to SQL Server.

Used UNIX, Oracle, Visual Basic and Entera for 3-tier Client/Server

architecture database development for Cummins Inc.'s Assembler Management

System. Created Oracle databases and schemas, wrote and modified RPC calls

and GUI.

Used ERwin to complete the Gerber FMS data model enhancement (converted the

data model from Visio to ERwin). Used Visual Basic to develop FMS system

for Gerber Products.

Designed specifications for a project management system for the Department

of the Navy
