Founding member of textile design team for QVC in 2005, integral in
determining scope and direction of position for Design/ Development/Global
Sourcing for Fashion, Home, and Fashion Accessories, across more than a
dozen proprietary brands, such as Denim & Co., Dialogue, and Lemon Hill.
Advised management regarding position's role/responsibilities and
performance measurements and how to grow the team. As team expanded,
trained new employees on software systems, hardware, and department
practices. Advised system upgrades, enhancements, and best practices.
Tracked department budget, supplies, workload, and T/A calendar.
Established electronic organization of artwork files, served as point-
person on technical issues of CAD files with domestic and international
partners. Worked with an evolving T/A calendar and presented print /
pattern / embellishment trends to design team quarterly with monthly follow
up presentations. Participated in art and sample purchasing trips in NYC,
Miami, and LA and locally for textile department. In 3 years contributed
more than 800 textile designs, resulting in department's landed cost

Contributed to overall trend for print, woven, and embellishment designs
for women's RTW, Suites, Dresses, and Sleep-ware for Valerie Stevens and
Amanda Smith labels. Collaborated with designers, trend director, design
director, merchants, and overseas offices to execute high value, price
sensitive fashion. Presented work to buyers and executive management
quarterly. Responsible for strike-off and hand loom evaluations in
collaboration with colorists. Participated in sample and art buying trips
to NYC, Chicago and St Louis. Problem solved production issues with
overseas offices. Reviewed all artwork repeats, color cards, pitch sheets,
and artwork tech-pack creation and shipping. Presented Strike-offs and
samples to buying and merchant teams for review.
CAD Manager, The Apparel Group, Inc. Addison, TX 2000-2003
Primary responsibilities included staffing and developing five textile
designers, managed workflow for department, recommend budget and department
goals, conducted annual staff evaluations. Acted as primary
technical/computer support person for department, established best
practices, and partnered with VP of Design, VP of Sales, and design staff
to support company initiatives. Drove CAD team print research, and
partnered with Design team for customer mood and concept boards.
Coordinated department software and hardware upgrades and training. Worked
with individual designers and textile designers to develop skills and
product concepts. Developed unique and innovative cad techniques to more
accurately communicate and predict textile outcomes. Managed team from
concept of work, through development and final approvals, as well as
managing resources for sales presentations and tech-packs. Reviewed strike-
offs and bulk production for approval.
CAD Designer, The Apparel Group, Inc. Addison, TX. 1998-2000
Pioneered position for Addison office, solely responsible for two thirds of
cooperate cad work load in print, knit, and woven designs, color matching,
strike-off evolution and recommendation to factory for follow up. Partnered
with Design Director and sales-force on all client presentations. Integral
part of corporate headquarter re-location, CAD's IT recommendation, and
workflow evaluation in 1999. Color matched all seasonal palettes for cad
printing.
