WORLD SAVINGS BANK/WACHOVIA, SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS 1986-2009
Senior Vice President, Major Loan Asset Review (1995- 2009)
Led the establishment of a new department. Conducted research of
competitor activity. Created and implemented a system of procedures,
guidelines and tracking methods for use by a team of field inspectors
working throughout the state of California. Recruited and trained all
inspectors.
o Established industry innovating department after being selected and
challenged by the COO to turn-around nationwide loan portfolio
monitoring. Succeeded in designing and developing the corporation's
stance on consistent asset review and administration ensuring the safety
and reliability of a $6 Billion portfolio. Program was fully functional
within one year - January 1996.
o Acted as liaison with OTS (Office of Thrift Supervision), ensuring
regulatory compliance by significantly refining processes and scoring
100% compliance over 13 years while establishing national model/standard
within the industry.
o Oversaw all review and compliance functions for 7500 - 8000 properties,
achieving total delinquency/failure rate of under .04%
o Oversaw all aspects of single-family foreclosed property liquidation in
South Texas. Achieved stabilization, clean-up and marketing of these
distressed properties. Successful in the sale and closure of all
properties within 45 days of receipt, in most cases at 90% or more of
appraised value, while generating sales of new funding for buyer
o Promoted to SVP; 2000 based on consistent record of outstanding
performance.
Regional Vice President - Midwest Division (1991- 1995)
Selected as first individual within organizational history to step into
dual role of both deposit and loan side of branch management. Directed a
savings staff of 50 individuals in ten branches within the state of Kansas,
including ten branch managers and one district support manager.
Administered a $900 Million deposit base. Managed loan origination
department comprised of nine loan representatives and support staff of ten.
o Originated $60 Million annually in new loans.
o Increased Savings Deposit base by 30% in two years by researching
market/customer needs and leading Branch Managers in customer based cross
sales.
o Recipient of World Savings Chairman's Award, 1992 (inaugural year), in
recognition for outstanding Community Service.

Recruited to organization by the Chief Operating Officer to learn full
scope of loan origination aspect of Financial Services, progressing from
Loan Representative to District then Regional Management.
