Professional Background Summary:
Over 40 years specializing in the design, development and analysis of
advanced power conversion equipment with special emphasis on high-frequency
switching technology. Extensive background in space qualified power
supplies, high-voltage TWT power supplies, DC/AC inverters for UPS systems
and off-line converter/regulators. Mil-Aerospace DC/DC power supplies with
power densities up to 36 watts per cubic inch. Miniaturized low-cost power
supplies for the PC and other commercial applications. Formed Power
Dynamics Corporation in 1978 and MTM Associates in 1982. Power Dynamics was
an engineering and manufacturing firm while MTM Associates was a consulting
company specializing in assisting customers in the design and development
of power supply products. Both companies were successful in there charted
endeavors and MTM Associates is now merged with a new company Switch Mode
Technologies Inc. SMT employs state-of-the art analytical tools (SPICE 4,
MATHCAD 7) and a variety of other software tools to both analyze and design
for worse-case conditions. SMT has been involved in some of the most
demanding and technically challenging space based power supply programs in
the country. Experience in the design of HPS and HID PFC/Inverters from
100 Watts to 100kW Extensive experience in Battery chargers for all
applications with power ratings to 100 kW

involved developing systems concepts and hardware designs for all power
converters and power distribution aboard the satellite.
2. Managed the space power group and assisted in the design of the TRW
"Milstar" Satellite power supply program for ST Microwave located in
Phoenix Arizona. Additional programs were for SS Loral "Tempo Satellite"
program, GPS Satellite program, JHU "Near" spacecraft and Hazeltine IFF
power supply for the F-16.
3. Designed a multioutput DC/AC inverter for the China Aerospace Long
March Booster Rocket. This was a program in which Hughes A/C and
Martin were involved in supplying hardware for China's communication
Satellite.
MTM Associates President and Owner
