Senior Electrical Designer on the installation of fiber optic cable and 120V power for plant wide radiation monitors .

Required walk down and photos of all locations including protected areas. Cleared for unescorted access to all areas.

Designated mounting locations of monitors, determined routing of cable via new and existing raceway Including

UG ducts, new conduit and existing tray. located source of 120V power from local panels. Tie-in of signal cable to

DCS. Construction documents are done in Microstation on 11 x 17 PDF’s and later revised existing plant drawings

To show new work. A new steam generator is being installed at this time thru a hole in the top of the containment.

Layout of new lighting and welding receptacles are installed on top of the containment for this new work.

The NRC has required that more effective barriers be installed for plant access. Layout of new blast walls, concrete

Barriers around the protected areas and new security monitors at the main plant entrance. Using Microstation V8.

10/2007 to 9/2008: Shaw-NC, for Duke Energy Charlotte, NC

Senior Electrical Designer on 2 new coal plants for Duke Energy Charlotte, NC. 6.9KV and 13.8KV motor control

drawings, single line drawings, metering and protective relays, Schweitzer relays, riser diagrams for phone & DCS.

Main one line drawings made from ETAP input (Electrical Power Systems Analysis Program). physical layout of

Medium and high voltage switchgear, Transformers, UG ductwork, grounding, conduit layout and site lighting.

480V motor controls, MCC layout, control drawings. Using Microstation V8 and Bentley IRAS/B.

Sr. Electrical Designer on instrumentation, power and controls on projects for Tennessee Eastman Chemical Co.

Clients projects involved the production, storage, and transfer of various chemicals using Allen-Bradley variable

Frequency drives, control panels, motor control centers, conduit, cable and tray layout. Elementary drawings,

single line drawings, power and lighting plans and wiring diagrams. All drives and controls are run to DCS.

Layout of electrical equipment rooms. Microstation/J,with IRAS B and clients document management system.

6/2004 to 10/2006 Dominion Power, Richmond, VA.

Contractor: Corestaff Services, Richmond, VA

Sr. Electrical Designer on instrumentation, power and controls using Microstation/J with IRAS/B. and client

Document management system. On Dominion Nuclear Power plants Surry and North Anna, and Mt Storm

Coal plant the work involved the converting of controls from the original panel mounted single loop controllers

To the new DCS and desk mounted screens. New documents required drawing conversion of the original

Stone & Webster drawings to new Dominion drawings using Microstation/J with IRAS/B. many new drawings

Were required. All control drawings needed to be revised to show the new DCS inputs and outputs.

Physical work required was running instrument and control cables from the old control panel to the new DCS.

At the Surry station Relocated feed water valve control wiring and instrument air from old location to new valve

location. At the North Anna plant new radiation monitors were installed on the main steam lines. This involved

walkdowns and planning the new conduit routing. Wiring diagrams for sensor and 120V power were done.

At the Mt Storm coal plant in Davis,WV installed new plant wide 5 channel telephone system (GAI-tronics).

Field work for the new DCS required many walkdowns, field sketches and going into equipment.

01/1998 - 06/2004 Dupont Co .Kevlar Div, Richmond,va

Contractor: Quantum Resources, Richmond, VA

Sr. Electrical Designer on instrumentation, power and controls using Microstation SE.

Install LVDT's (Linear Variable Differential Transformers) on Kevlar Spinning Machines to detect, control

and display adjustments to axis of pull rolls, refiner plates and gap adjustment using 4-20 input to DCS.

Install tank level and press controls with input to DCS for pump motor control. Work with Allen-Bradley

motor control centers and Honeywell DCS. Install automatic lube system on vacuum filter press,

install vacuum assist lift for pkg loading on conveyors, install CHCL3 sensor and gas analyzers

for detection and alarm. Install dryer moisture analyzer, Install robot controls using Allen-Bradley

panel viewsI Install heat tracing, cooling tower power and controls, safety shower and eyewash stations

as well as building and area lighting and pole lines and lighting panels.

10/1992 - 01/1998 Philip Morris, Chesterfield, Va .

Senior Electrical Designer using Microstation Intergraph 95 and AutoCAD 12 on lighting, power, controls and

instrumentation. Perform field survey of plant lighting and power panels, MCC's, power distribution and

instrument panels, upgrade existing lighting and conduit plans, panel schedules, control diagrams, one-line diagrams,

and loop sheets. New design work involved Allen-Bradley PLC-5's, variable speed drives and control panels for

tobacco products manufacturing and packaging machinery, i.e.: dryers, conveyors,and palletizers.
