Carnegie Mellon University Pittsburgh, PA
Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering, May 2010
GPA 3.56/4.0
Thapar University (Formerly Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology),
Patiala, India
Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering
CGPA 7.5/10.0
Honda Siel Car India Ltd, Greater Noida, India
Quality Engineering Department, July 2007- September 2008
Projects:
1) Reduced major defects in Assembly Frame line. In this project I observed
& analyzed the defects coming in Assembly Frame line. Then devised
methods to eliminate top defects. It included designing a jig to make
processes foolproof. I utilized data analysis techniques with help of MS
excel and designed the jig in Pro/Engineer.
2) Designed lifter to make manufacturing operations more ergonomic. I
designed lifter in Pro/Engineer and utilized my mechanical design skills
to ensure robust design.
Job Responsibilities:
a. Testing & analysis of cars produced in New Model events.
b. Analyze & provide solution for defects come up in tests, on design &
manufacturing consideration.
GE Motors India PVT. LTD, Faridabad, India (now owned by Regal Beloit)
Intern, Process Quality, January 2006 - June 2006
1) Improved Material handling system of unfinished goods to reduce
quality of goods by designing new trays for material handling. I
designed the system in Pro/Engineer.
2) Standardized Interpole length of electric motors to improve process
quality & strengthen manufacturing process by utilized six sigma tools
in this project.
3) Analyzed & resolved quality problems coming in electric motor shell
with six sigma methods.
DTED Project, Spring 2009
. Analyzed the Plug-in hybrid battery market & manufacturing system, to
find optimum specifications of battery for pug-in vehicles. Most
beneficial for car manufacturers.
I used MS excel for various calculations and manufacturing model in this
project.
Machine Learning Project, Fall-2009
. Predicted rating given by customer to product, from text of review
written by customer, for that product. I used Matlab for coding the
program.
Integrated Product Development Project, Spring 2010
. Developed new centre console to fit trash and storage needs of passengers
for upcoming NISSAN electric vehicles. I designed the centre console in
Solidworks.
Graduate Courses:
Decision Tools for Engineering Design Design for Manufacturing
Advanced Manufacturing Machine Learning
Project Management Business Process Modeling
Integrated Product development Mechanics of fracture & fatigue
Operating Systems: Windows, MacOS, Linux
Software: MS Office, ProEngineer, MATLAB, Solidworks
Computer Languages: C, C++, Visual C++ (learning)
