• Appellate Litigation. Represented appellants and on contract basis, assisted with appeals
including: In the Matter of Paternity of Baby Girl, Born 6-7-94, P.D. v. D.H., 661 N.E.2d
873 (Ind. App. 1996)(successfully handled appeal to the Indiana Court of Appeals on behalf
of a biological father contesting the adoption of his daughter. The Appeals Court reversed the
trial court’s adoption order and found that the adoptive parents’ attorney had affirmatively
misled the biological father); Blake v. Calumet Construction Corp., 674 N.E.2d 167 (Ind.
1996)(drafted Petition to Transfer and Brief to Indiana Supreme Court on behalf of an injured
worker in a case regarding construction site liability. The Indiana Supreme Court granted the
Petition and ruled in favor of the injured worker by reversing trial court’s grant of summary
judgment for the construction company); CJ’s Pub v. CJ’s Taste of the South, (Ind. App. 1997,
unpublished opinion)(handled appeal to Indiana Court of Appeals on behalf of corporation
seeking reversal of denial of injunctive relief regarding its unfair competition claim for trade
name infringement); Olive v. State, 696 N.E.2d 381 (Ind. 1998)(drafted brief for appeal to
Indiana Supreme Court on behalf of nineteen year-old defendant seeking modification of
murder conviction).
• Civil and Criminal Litigation. Performed legal research and wrote memoranda; drafted
pleadings, motions, affidavits, and all manner of court documents. Attended hearings,
provided analytical case evaluations and prepared for trials.
• Council Member- Indiana State Bar Association. Served as Third District Representative
