WORK EXPERIENCE:
Job Title : Graduate Research Assistant
(Sep 2007 - July 2009)
Chemical and Biological Engineering, SDSM&T
> Description: i) Biofuel production using microbes isolated from the
Homestake Gold mine, South Dakota Isolated microbes which ferments
Xylose, Glucose and Glycerol for the production of ethanol.
Characterized the microbes and estimated the growth kinetics.
> ii) Establishment of Permeable Reactive Bio-Barriers for Uranium
Removal and characterize the role of Iron minerals on Uranium fate and
transport as a part of Masters Thesis. Investigated the influence of
Oxygen and Iron on the stability of SRB-mediated reduced Uranium.
Analyzed samples for concentrations of Fe(II), sulfate, lactate,
sulfide and SRB in inductively coupled plasma mass spectroscopy
(ICPMS) at Chemical and Biological Engineering laboratory, SDSM&T.
Job Title : Graduate Teaching Assistant
(Sep 2007 - Sep 2008)
Chemical and Biological Engineering, SDSM&T
> Description: Trained sophomores in formulation of a plan of
investigation for studying/troubleshooting a piece of process
equipment/unit operation. Experiments included Control valve
characteristics, Residence time distribution in CSTR, Gravity-drained
tanks, Characterization of Feedback control elements, Closed loop
temperature control.
Job Title : Industrial Trainee
(Dec 2006- May 2007)
Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd, Andhra Pradesh, India.
> Description: Dr. Reddy's Laboratories Ltd is the India's leading
pharmaceutical Industries. Worked as Industrial Trainee in Solvent
Recovery System at R & D center on "Recovery of MIBK from Mother
Liquor of Rantidine" as a part of undergraduate thesis. Recovery of
MIBK is carried out in two stages with removal of salts and water by
using Distillation.
