Delphi Corporation Auburn Hills, Michigan
. Senior Warranty Return Engineer
July 2006 to October 2008
o Analyzed warranty returns to establish failure mechanisms and the
probable source of these failures. Communicated data and trends
using appropriate reporting formats with customers, suppliers and
within Delphi.
o Directed changes in documentation such as the Bill of Process (BOP),
Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA), Application Guidelines,
product drawings and material specifications internally and with
suppliers. Communicated changes to the customer.
o Escalated warranty trends and information to allow prompt
remediation and minimized financial and customer dissatisfaction
risks. Monitored the effectiveness of implemented corrective
actions.
. Senior Fuel Module Product/Project Engineer
October 1995 to June 2006
o Developed /released the 2004 Chrysler Pacifica fuel modules with
innovative dual module design and installation features for a
program with a volume of 100K resulting in annual revenues of $5.2M.
o Managed the flawless launch of various high profile customer fuel
module applications using APQP with special emphasis on customer
requirements, DFMEAs, PFMEAs, validation testing (ADVP&R). The
largest of these programs had volumes of 1.2M and annual revenues of
$66M+.
o Coordinated activities between suppliers, Delphi and the customer
involving technical and program reviews, the joint evaluation of
products at various release levels at the component and vehicle
level resulting in on time program release at specified cost.
o Verified and documented product performance and reliability growth
through all phases of product development in compliance with QS9001
/ TS16949
Fuel Module Quality Engineer
o Managed and directed Statistical Process Control for all Fuel Module
fabrication and assembly areas resulting in Fabrication Annual FTQ
improvements of 10% resulting in $150K annual savings.
o Delivered continuous improvement in the divisional manufacturing
performance by utilizing design of experiments (DOE), Shainin Red X,
as well as other problem solving techniques to identify and resolve
manufacturing problems in quality achieving $50K in annual scrap
reduction..
o Identified and resolved inaccurate Fuel Gage issue that represented
a hardy perennial for Service Fuel Senders. Identified non-
conforming braze on brass floats & worked with Product Engineering
to implement design change to polyurethane float with redesigned
high speed manufacturing capable float arm resulting in cost savings
of $ 35K annually.
. Manufacturing Supervisor
o Supervised 42 non-exempt employees on a Fuel Module assembly line.
Administered the Delphi / UAW contract to maintain efficient
manufacturing process.
o Implemented lean manufacturing principles by combining three
assembly lines into one assembly cell resulting in an annual
efficiency increase of 15% with annual cost improvements of $400K.
o Coordinated with Engineering and skilled trades to perform
preventive maintenance / repair of equipment resulting in equipment
up-time of 95%.
. Product Designer
