OUTSTANDING ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Contributed to 400% increase in sales and profits: Key member of Executive
Committee charged with directing and implementing the growth of the
company. This nine year tenure resulted in the addition of ten non-poultry
companies and three additional processing facilities. Combined annual
sales increasing from $45 million to $180 million and net income increasing
from $1.1 million to more than $8 million.
Initiated significant cost-saving measures: Developed and implemented all
reporting, and financial accounting policies and procedures, including:
plant by plant budget and weekly reporting of budget variances for cost
control, along with a weekly estimated P&L on a product level basis.
Improved Balance Sheet: Negotiated with bank for lines-of-credit to have a
two year maturity with annual renewals, thus making all balances classified
as long-term debt as opposed to current debt. This opened new doors with
vendors, increasing credit limits.
Increased profits: As CFO, worked with the states of Arkansas and Missouri
to obtain Enterprise Zone tax credits saving over one million dollars in
taxes for Twin Rivers Foods.
Ensured sustained company profits: Constructed a product level costing
system allowing production management to assess profitability of individual
products.
Facilitated addition of $1 million to bottom line: With the start-up of
the Atkins Prepared Foods facility in 2004, arranged for a $1,250,000
forgivable loan through the state of Arkansas, of which $1,010,000 of the
loan was forgiven.
