< Built ownership in a process to guide labor negotiations at all

locations through the use of a template focused on consistent, high $

bargaining objectives. Participated in backroom and actual bargaining

sessions. Saved > $1 - $3 MM / location at all bargained US locations

and simplified administration.

< Centralized payroll, reduced headcount, and used systems and

administration technology to form a Human Resources service center.

Saved $450 K/year in headcount reduction and improved the quality of

data and customer service. Introduced new phone and PC-based technology

to all employees, including hourly workers.

< Removed post-65 retiree health care coverage and introduced greater

retiree cost sharing, including use of a phantom bank account based

upon years of service. Obtained reimbursement from government for

retiree Rx. Earned $9 MM/year reduction in retiree medical costs and

$1 MM/year in Medicare Part D reimbursement.

< Designed, communicated and implemented performance management, base

salary, cash bonus, gain sharing, sales incentive, milestone, and long-

term incentive programs. Established pay for performance culture in

which employees and management were confident and motivated.

< Introduced a FlexBenefits program, renegotiated with carriers, and

redesigned the individual benefit programs (medical, dental, life,

disability, Rx, etc.) Reduced cost for benefit programs by > $10 MM

during a period in which costs were rapidly escalating and met needs of

the employee population.
