Manager Software Development (11/95 - 11/97): Responsible for the
development of a new generation software system and for the ongoing
maintenance of large-scale legacy software systems. These systems
were used for remotely monitoring natural gas consumption via voice
grade telephone line, producing billing reports, monitoring remote
unit faults, and nominating and balancing gas consumption. I was also
responsible for creating, maintaining, and monitoring the budget and
actual costs of projects within the department; creating initial
schedules and monitoring project scheduling performance; and
supervising approximately 30 developers and testers within that
department.
Group Leader (9/93-11/95): Lead a 5-person team through the initial
design of a new generation Natural Gas Monitoring system. This
included analyzing user requirements, producing high level design
documents, developing new coding specifications, generating GUI
standards, creating prototypes of the GUI, and creating prototypes of
the database to be tested for timing constraints. I was personally
responsible for the overall system architecture and design of the new
generation system. This was a Windows NT/95 client-server based
system, designed using an object-oriented methodology.
Programmer Analyst (4/88-9/93): Responsible for the design and
development of a DOS and Windows 3.x based real-time data collection
system that operated on both a single PC and as a workstation in a
Novell LAN.
