all corporate-wide performance management tools as well as ensuring

appropriate Corporate Structure.

Director Industrial Relations 1998-

2000

Responsibilities included all aspects of Human Resources/Labor Relations

for the Payless ShoeSource Distribution Center. Primary responsibilities

included union relations/negotiations, succession planning, organizational

design, staffing, compensation administration, employee relations, and

labor relations. The Distribution Center workforce consisted of 750-900

unionized (Teamster) Associates and 150 non-unionized Associates.

. Successfully led a team of eight Human Resource Associates in the

management of all employment related activities in the distribution

facility.

. Led the efforts to achieve zero accidents in 1999 resulting in

substantial Worker's Compensation savings and improved morale.

. Maintained positive relations with Union Leadership resulting in no

grievances going to arbitration.

Responsibilities included the case management all F.E.P. charges filed with

the EEOC, state agencies and municipalities on a nationwide basis,

including charge investigation, preparation of position statement, fact

finding/investigative conferences and settlement negotiations. Represented

Payless ShoeSource in matters in which parties had retained legal counsel.

Responsibilities also included the successful negotiations of labor

contracts for represented Stores and the UFCW.
