manufacturing engineers in the manufacturing development of CAT smallest
Wheel Tractor Scraper. Implemented 6-sigma strategy, APQP methodology, and
NPI procedures to manage process designs & flow, tooling, project
schedules, variable value-add cost, and capital investment. Worked this
project from development to production. Recognized as Caterpillar's
benchmark for NPI projects.
CHIEF ENGINEER FOR THE 1st WORLD WIDE PRODUCTION OF HONDA SUV (MDX) - Led
development of HVAC system including working with supplier, managing staff
of five engineers, developing staggered design, tooling and production
schedules and managing corporate compliance to investment, cost and weight
goals. Started project from concept to mass-production. Awarded J.D. Powers
distinction of #1 in its class.
1st SATURN RIGHT HAND DRIVE FOR MARKET - Hired and led team of design and
test engineers and used new technology to simulate part build out. As
design was perfected, identified potential toolmakers and small component
manufacturers. Used kinematics software to design levers and linkage for
proper operations. Delivered status reports to customer on regular basis.
DEVELOPED TROUBLESHOOTINGPROCESS FOR QUALITY CONTROL - Planned and
coordinated 5-day road test covering 600 plus miles utilizing a team of 6,
including engineers and technicians. Designed plan to include rotation of
drivers, assigned drive times, data collection processes, analyzing data
and all trip logistics. Project results provided support for redesign of
greatly improved temperature control thermostat.
