Chief Financial Officer
Responsible for all financial reporting as well as the budgeting
process, treasury function, risk management, managing the debt covenants
and acting as a liaison between the two primary shareholders. Reported
to the CEO with a dotted line to the Chairman. Process Fab was run with
no real accounting department for over 25 years.
. Created the financial reporting package that satisfies the needs of
external users.
. Got the external audit completed in three weeks, and got the bill
reduced by 37.5%.
. Got the closing process down to five business days.
. Changed the banking relationship to a modern approach that meets the
creditors requirements.
. Negotiated all new insurance coverage, worker comp, general liability,

Division Controller / VP Finance
Fiscal responsibility for the $250 million private label bleach division
reporting to the CFO. Division had 10 plants in North America that
ranged in size from $10 million to $40 million in revenue. Worked with
the CFO and the Regional General Managers to develop long and short-term
business strategies, implement best practices, coordinate the budgeting
process, prepare rolling forecasts, approve capital projects, work with
plant management teams to assure focus on obtaining business objectives.
Prepare MD & A of the operating results including appropriate financial
analysis, ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end process.
Had 13 direct reports.
. Recommended closure of Northern California plant which generated
annual savings of a million dollars.
. Negotiated and recovered over a $100,000 in old receivables from the
preacquistion days.
. Recovered $50,000 on real property tax bill by catching an error made
by the taxing authorities and reduced the bill going forward by

Division Controller
RBC manufactures all types of bearings, primarily for the aerospace
market. Restored integrity to a dysfunctional accounting department
by re-training the existing staff, implementing processes, and designing
a new costing system providing improved reliability. The costing system
enabled more effective product pricing and lead to improved margins.
Worked as a business partner with the operations. Key member of
acquisition team, performing due diligence, meeting with potential
acquisition targets, and helping transition acquired companies onto
RBC's system. Position reported to the VP of Operations with dotted
line to CFO. Had three direct reports.
. Reduced External Audit completion from two month to two weeks.
. Implemented new accounting software for Y2K compliance in 1999.
. Recovered $66,000 erroneously held by the previous owners.
. Negotiated credit terms with all the vendors who had RBC on COD from

SMS was a $10 million dollar real estate service company that acquired a
$240 million division of TRW (Real Estate Loans Services division) in
April 1993. Was brought in by the new CFO to be his right hand.
Performed the duties previously performed by Corporate Controller,
Director of Credit & Collection, and Accounting Manager. During
my short stay at SMS, they changed CFOs three times. Completely rebuilt
the finance department. Position had six direct reports and 23
indirect. Left because company was for sale.
. Got closure with External Auditors on March 1993 purchase accounting.
. Changed External Auditors in June 1995 reducing audit fee from
$225,000 to $75,000.
. Completed 1994 & 1995 audit simultaneously because books were
unauditable in June 1994.
. Prepared all the financial information for sale of the company.
