Operational Management / Leadership Overview
Managed up to twenty bank branch offices, totally more than 160 officers,
managers and employees covering three Southeastern Michigan counties.
Maintained one of the most consistently successful markets over a stretch
of twenty plus years, during a time when the number of competitors more
than doubled.
Recognized as the responsible manager for averaging one of the lowest
employee turnover rates, and one of the highest customer service ratings.
Successfully implemented and drove four different corporate culture changes
precipitated by corporate mergers with minimal transitional obstacles or
setback issues being noted.
In-House Counsel
Consistently advised and directed Senior Management regarding the legal
ramifications and appropriateness of their various business strategies /
actions with the resulting outcome of the organization and individual
officers never being named as a defendant.
Directly advised and maintained close counsel with the Board of Directors
on complex legal issues resulting in no adverse impact from subsequent
actions taken by the Board.
Regularly reviewed departmental processes, procedures and practices for
determining regulatory compliance relating to both State / Federal statutes
and in keeping with broadly accepted industry best practices, etc. High
audit scores were consistently achieved from Company, State and, Federal
audit reviews.
Successfully represented the corporation as plaintiff in numerous legal
actions, with an unblemished case wins or equitably resolved rate.
Human Resource Director
Established, continually updated and effectively communicated corporate
Human Resources policies, which lead to a more informed employee group,
thereby significantly reducing management counseling and employee
disciplinary / grievance incidents.
Developed strategic plans, through employee-focused initiatives for
improving
quality services, increased staff engagement, with a positive outcome of
increased customer confidence and community good will.
Established a program of clear, concise vision for the organization, which
was promulgated by full management and employee buy-in and ownership.
Instituted a testing and uniform employment interviewing process resulting
in the elimination of discriminatory practices and favoritism issues which
many times netted in the hiring of a lesser qualified candidate. During my
tenure, quality of hires increased at all levels with no claim of
employment prejudice or discrimination being recorded both internally or
externally.
Assured compliance with all relevant Federal, State and local laws /
regulations, along with participating in corporate image building efforts
designed to enhance employee satisfaction and customer acceptance. The
