Alco Welding and Machine Co. - Ship Superintendent/Competent Person -
Started out with this company as a welder's helper, rose through the
ranks to certified welder, then fabricator/mechanic, lead person, and
finally Ship Superintendent. As Ship Superintendent, I was responsible
for all field projects from conception to completion. I was also
responsible for jobsite safety, writing hot work permits, confined
space entry permits, and conducting weekly safety meetings. These
projects included both shipboard (Commercial and U.S. Navy) and
construction (Government and Manufacturing/Processing Plants). I
worked for this company over several different time frames.

shipfitter-pipefitter/welder was promoted to leadman after 6 months of
service. Projects specialized in repairs on shipboard structural and
piping systems. Responsible for the craftsmen assigned to the work as
well as all other aspects of the project with the exception of the
required reports and material ordering. Lead customers were SupShip,
MSC, and U.S. Army.

replacement of main fuel oil piping on U.S.S. America, CV-66.

Laboratories), Newport News, VA. Stainless steel nuclear cooling water

Amark Corp. - Pipe welder/fitter - Assigned to the repair and
installation of industrial and manufacturing plant equipment and

system at Norfolk Naval Hospital and Installation of steam system in

The Adventure Group - Pipefitter/Plumber-General Foreman. Fort Eustis
Barracks Latrine Renovation Project; complete renovation of 80 units.
Demolition, rough-in plumbing, drain alterations, installation of new
plumbing fixtures, install and pipe in fan coil units, install and
test CPE shower pans (8' x 18'), and operate extendable boom fork
lift. Hired on as pipefitter/plumber, after approximately 30 days was
requested by project manager to also take on the responsibilities of
general foreman.
C. B. I. Na-Con - Pipefitter-Welder - NASA Langley Research Center,
Hampton, VA. Hired on as pipefitter for 100% x-ray stainless steel
piping on liquid nitrogen holding tank project. Three weeks after
hiring on, I was qualified 6-G open butt carbon steel to stainless
steel GTAW & SMAW welding process, at the request of the project
superintendent. Returned to pipe fitting as soon as the company could
secure qualified welding personnel; welded as needed for the duration
of the project.
