OBJECTIVE

To obtain a full time position where I can utilize my Mechanical

Engineering Design and Manufacturing skills in an industry.

SUMMARY

1 year Industrial experience in manufacturing and 2 years of Academic

experience (and

hands-on) in composite manufacturing and CAD-CAM.

Strong background in composite design, structural analysis (FEA) and

manufacturing processes like press molding, hand lay-up, vacuum bagging and

filament winding. Also familiar with pultrusion, prepreg manufacturing,

injection molding, ultrasound (NDT).

Proficient in programming CNC Mill/Lathe machines using CAD-CAM tools like

Autocad and Flashcut CNC. Strong hands-on in using Prolite-1000 mill,

Sherline Mill/Lathe and manual manufacturing machines.

Hands on experience with FEA tool Nei-Nastran with Solidworks 2009, Pro/E

for design optimization of components and also familiar with six Sigma

methodology and lean manufacturing techniques.

Accomplished research projects: Composite Bending Rubber Muscle Actuators

(Patentable) and Pneumatic Walking Robot.

Proficient in reading and interpreting Engineering Drawings and also

writing technical reports and presentations.

Awarded with "Who's Who Among Students" as a student of merit

WORK Experience

V Work and assist with development of composite research projects and

other manufacturing projects.

V Fabricate and test composite laminates, various polyurethane specimens,

rubber actuators, adhesives etc to determine their physical properties.

V Conduct labs to teach composite fabrication processes like hand-layup,

press molding, RTM, resin Infusion and filament winding to undergraduate

students.

V Also teach CAM (Flashcut CNC, CNC base and Autocad).

V Improve fabrication techniques by performing structural analysis

(Linear and Nonlinear), using casting molds and different fabrication

materials (carbon fiber, fiber glass, various resins etc).

V Design and fabricate various molds (Epoxy, Wax and Plaster) using

CAD/CAM-ProE.

V Teach basic composite manufacturing and CAM to high school students

during summer.

V Composite Elephant leg Bending Actuators (Patentable)

Description: Bending Rubber Muscle Actuators (BRMAs) when actuated at 60

psi produce deflection of 105?-160? and generates torque of 21-23 in lbs.

Responsibilities: Performing FEA for deflection, developing fabrication

processes and fabricating various rubber actuators of unequal geometry,

manufacturing molds, fabricating test fixture, testing BRMAs for torque

and angular deflection.

Skills/Tools: Nei-Nastran, Microsoft Excel, Autocad, SolidWorks, Pro/E,

CAD-CAM, vacuum bagging, CNC Mill, Filament Winder, Various Elastomers,

Carbon Fiber.

V Modified Research projects of Dr L D. Peel: Bionic Arm and Morphing Wing

Responsibilities: Development of RMA's, fabrication of attachment molds,

design and develop composite epoxy arms, project testing.
