This Project was worked for the Sandia National Laboratories, a
Lockheed Martin Company for the United States Department of Energy
RELATED COURSEWORK
Graduate Level:
Scanning Electron Microscopy, Semiconductor Processing, Optical
Spectroscopy of Materials, Thermodynamic Characterization of Materials.
ACADEMIC PROJECTS
. Thermal Stability of Optical Transmission in Potassium Dihydrogen
Phosphate (KDP) crystals. ( Master's Thesis)
o The aim of the project is to correlate thermally induced changes in
medium and long range structure of Potassium Dihydrogen Phosphate were
correlated with the development of micro crack induced optical opacity
of single crystal specimens. The phenomenon of inhomogenity in the
structural phase transformation of KDP single crystal was established.
Raman spectroscopy was utilized to study the structural phase
transformation, and the single beam optical spectroscopy established
the opacification. "Elevated-Temperature Structural Transformation and
Optical Transmission Behavior of KH2PO4 Single Crystals," in Proc. of
Journal of the American Ceramic Society '09, 93 [4] 1089-1095 (2010)
o The surface flaws and local environment induced changes in the
medium and long range structure of Potassium Dihydrogen
Phosphate with the development of micro crack induced optical
opacity in single crystal specimens was studied. The effect of
the surface topography on the stability of the KDP under thermal
treatment was established. Optical characterization of the
material was performed using Raman Spectroscopy, single beam
optical transmission, profilometry. Scanning Electron Microscopy
was used to characterize the surface and the cross sections of
the specimen.
. Precipitation hardening of Cu - 4Ti - Cd alloy. ( Jan 2008)
o Cu - 4Ti- Cd was characterized and precipitation hardening of Cu
- 4Ti - Cd alloy has been conducted, it was tested for its high
strength ( using Brinell's and Vickers's hardness tests) and
electrical and thermal conductivity and it was successfully
proved to be possessing high strength and electrical and thermal
conductivity which is commercially more economical than the Cu -
Be alloys which were continued to use for rolling tubes and rods
but were limited due to the toxicity and high cost of
production.
PROGRAMMING SKILLSET
. Programming Languages: C, C++, Data Structures using C, Matlab.
. Database: Oracle - 9i
ACCOMPLISHMENTS
. Bagged third prize for technical design contest at National Institute of
Technology - Warangal.
. Organizer and active participant of the Technical Event Ayas - 07 and
Ayas - 08 at The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University.
. Presented a paper on applications and manufacture of metallic foams at
National Institute of Technology- Warangal, India.
. Secured a position in the top 2% of the State level Engineering Entrance
Exam.
