Objective

Seeking a full-time analog IC design position to contribute strong

capability of electronic circuit design/electronic design automation and

control

Education

North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC

Research Assistant

Ph.D., Electrical and Computer Engineering, GPA: 3.54/4.0

December, 2010

Dissertation Topic: Electronic System Optimization Design via GP-based

Surrogate modeling

North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, NC

Research Assistant

Approach

Chongqing university, Chongqing, China

B.S., Applied Mathematics. GPA: 3.67/4.0

B.S., Electrical Engineering. GPA: 3.82/4.0

Projects

. Sigma-delta Fractional-N 3.2GHz PLL: Proposed robust surrogate modeling

and optimization approach to automatically design an ?-? fractional-N

3.2GHz PLL at system level (in MATLAB and VERILOG-A) and transistor level

(in HSPICE) with a -90.7dBc/Hz typical phase noise at 100KHz offset from

3.0GHz, 17.6ps RMS jitter, and 19.5mW power dissipation.

. 8-bit 260MSPS flash ADC: Designed an 8-bit flash ADC at transistor level,

operating from a 3.0V supply, achieving 7.1 typical ENOB and 42.2dB SNR

at 260MSPS conversion rate, and dissipating 723.6mW.

. 16-bit 2nd Order Sigma-Delta ADC: Automatically designed a 2nd order ?-?

ADC at system level in MATLAB, sourcing by a 3.3V supply and accepting

220mV differential input, with a maximum 20MHz data rate, a typical 78dB

SNR, a 12.7bit ENOB and 118.2mW dissipation.

. Complementary Differential CMOS LC Oscillator: Automatically designed

lots of differential LC oscillators at system and transistor level with

surrogate modeling and optimization approach.

. 100MHz Fully Differential CMOS Comparator: Designed a comparator with

preamplifiers followed by a regenerative latch, operating from a 2V

supply and obtaining 100MHz speed, 140?V resolution, 0.16?s delay, and

74.2v/?s slew rate, 3.2?s settling time, and dissipating 136.2?W.

. Passive and Active Filters: Automatically designed a number of types of

passive and active filters at system and transistor level with surrogate

modeling and optimization strategy.

. Fully Differential CMOS Amplifier: Automatically designed a number of

differential op-amps with a bandgap bias circuit while meeting a set of

specifications. And CMFC was incorporated to maintain the stable CM

operating point insensitive to the CM input and process variations.

. 5GHz RF CMOS Receiver: Designed a receiver consisting of a CMOS LNA, a

down converter mixer and associated DC bias circuit while satisfying the

given specifications on input frequency, output frequency, noise figure,

gain, IIP3 and power dissipation, etc.

. 1-bit Wide Transceiver: Designed a transceiver operating at 2.8Gbps with

a 100mV vertical and 400ps horizontal eye opening and 0.4mW power

consumption in 0.18?m CMOS technology.

. 16-bit Digital Accumulator: Designed an 16-bit accumulator composed of

carry-save multiplier, Carry-Select Adder, complementary CMOS AND gate

and positive edge-triggered TSPC Register, operating at 350MHz and

consuming 11pJ per operation at transistor level.
