Seeking a full time position as geologist that applies my research
expertise, towards developing cutting geodynamic models for resource
evaluation and reservoir analysis. Eager to learn and apply new skills for
challenging projects given by the company.
Key Skills
. Evaluated thermal conductivity of core samples for major oil
companies including ExxonMobil, Shell.
. Numerical 3-D thermal modeling of the Pilbara Craton for estimation
of Stabilizations temperatures at depth (Moho 30km) using thermal
data.
Educational Qualifications:
Ph.D. (Geophysics), Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX (Aug 2004 -
Aug 2010)
Thesis: "Quantification of the Stabilization Temperature of the Archean
cratons: Implication for thermal regime, secular variation of surface
heat flow and radioactivity distribution in Precambrian terrains". (GPA =
3.7/4)
. Created new concept of decay correction, which improved the
understanding of variation of
surface heat flow, mantle heat flow, radioactivity distribution and
lithospheric thickness in Precambrian terrains.
. Modeled 3-D thermal regime to Pilbara craton and quantification
of strength of stabilization of
Archean lithosphere through time. Also modeled 2-D forward and
inverse gravity models for subduction zones.
Other Research Projects
. Collaborated with Google to map the surface heat flow of Eastern
United States. Quantified the surface heat flow by using well logs
to extract geothermal gradient and thermal conductivity of the
rocks.
. Co-developed a proposal for resource evaluation for geothermal
energy of geopressured fluids in Wilcox formation along the Gulf
Coast in Texas.
. Relevant coursework: Theory of Heat Flow and Diffusion, Partial
Differential Equations, Digital Data Processing, Geophysical Techniques
in Geothermal Exploration, Introduction to Seismology, Basin Analysis,
Thermodynamics Geological Processes, Introduction to Linear Algebra.
M.S. (Applied Geology), Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, India
(2002- 2004).
Thesis: "Geology, geochemistry and paleomagnetism of dykes and flows of
Deccan Traps, Mumbai India".
. Measured paleo dip and inclination of remnant magnetization of core
samples of Deccan Traps.
. Classified basalts and phonolitic dikes of Deccan Traps by preparing thin
section.
. Relevant coursework: Structural Geology, Introductory Mathematics, Mining
Geology, Remote Sensing & GIS, General Geodesy, Solid Earth and
