A proven manufacturing business management leader with over 20 years experience in leading

• Business Management experience gained from positions held with

P&L responsibility for as many as 6 manufacturing locations totaling over $700M in annual sales

while servicing major automotive OEMs in both the light vehicle and heavy truck industries. I

have serviced as many as 34 customers from one location and held positions with OEMs, Tier 1

and Tier 2 supply. Customer’s have included most automotive OEMs such as Ford, GM,

Chrysler, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Mercedes. Also heavy truck OEMs including Paccar (KW

& Peterbuilt), DTNA (Freightliner), Volvo, and International.

• Plant Operations experience in all facets of manufacturing including

Safety and Human Resource management, Quality disciplines and Customer Management,

Engineering Systems and Process Development, Material Systems including supply chain

management, Cost Reduction and Continuous Improvement. Experience managing established

plants as well as with new plant startups in both union and non-union environments.

Commercial Vehicle Group New Albany, Ohio

Director of Operations Interiors and Seating, Mar 2006 – Dec 2009

P&L responsibility for 5 commerical vehicle manufacturing locations. Manufactured interior trim components and

seats for trucks, buses, and construction vehicles. Managing a high complexity of products and part numbers with

over $250M in sales. Implementing safety, quality, delivery and cost systems to manage in a market with a 65%

downturn since 2006. Successes with implementation of flexible manufacturing strategy to maintain operations

through the economic downturn including implementation of reducing overhead by rightsizing and closure of 6

locations in CVG. Implementing Lean manufacturing through TQPS (Total Quality Production System) across the

organization.

P&L responsibility for 5 Tier 3 automotive manufacturing locations throughout NA. Lead all facets of plant

operations delivering for over $700M in sales to over 30 customers at each of the 2 largest plants. Metals fabrication

plants with major processes including stamping, tube bending, and welding operations. Accomplishments in 2006

include a successful continuous improvement cost reduction strategy that exceeded $34M in cost savings; a leadership

driven safety program that reduced our safety incident rate over 75% from 4.3 to 1.3; a systems driven quality

improvement plan that reduced PPM levels over 60% at all locations to a business unit PPM of 39; Implemented

machine utilization performance measuring, insourced new business and increased equipment capacity utilization to

avoid $13M in new capital expenditures; successfully launched 12 new complete frame programs while insourcing

over 175 dies worth over $4M in EBIT savings.

Director of Operations Honda & Toyota BU, Sept 2003 - June 2005

Responsibility for plant operations of 6 Tier 1 JIT automotive seating supply plants throughout NA. ‘Just In Time’

manufacturing and delivery of complete seats to Honda and Toyota. Accomplishments include execution of operations

system implementation to achieve ‘Best In Class’ benchmark status in operations cost for 2 locations compared to 37

seating manufacturing locations within JCI; Implemented a turn around program to improve EBIT by $14M at our St.

Mary’s, Ohio location; Led a new plant startup from site construction to hiring and operations startup (Plant launched at 0-

0-100-30 status and received JCI Gold Safety and Quality awards with 100% On Time Delivery. Also received Delivery

and Quality awards from Honda); Successfully implemented Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma programs at all locations.

Plant Manager, Mar 1999 - Sept 2003

Managed plant operations with 300 hourly and salaried team members in a union environment supplying complete seats

JIT to Ford Motor Co. in Lorain, Ohio. Consistently accomplished all performance expectations in Safety, Quality,

Delivery, Cost and Inventory reduction. Processes included complete seat assembly, welding and tube bending over a 2

shift operation. Implemented CI savings and improved EBIT by over $13M over 3 yrs. In 2003 the Oberlin team received

honors in every area of the business including; a Continuous Gold Safety Award for 4 yrs, Continuous Gold Quality Award

for 3 yrs, 3 Merit Awards for successful operations and launch management, along with Regional and National employee

involvement ‘Rally Day Awards’. Upon completion of that assignment the Oberlin team presented me with a Leadership

and Coaching tribute through a Vince Lombardi ‘What it takes to be number one’ plaque.

Operation Manager (3 locations), Nov 1996 - Mar 1999 Shelbyville, Ky

Port Street, Mi.

Reported directly to the Plant Manager with responsibility for plant operations focusing on production, materials,

continuous improvement, launch and engineering management. Was successful in all locations assuring EBIT targets

and CI expectations we met consistently. Launched many programs during those 3 yrs. (all at 0-0-100-30 levels).

Major successes included at plateau launch over a one week Christmas shutdown for Ford Motor Co. in Louisville,

Ohio. Installed new assembly lines and processes over one week and started up at JIT full build rates to assure 100%

on time delivery. Started early in the hiring process for a 7 day operation at the Port Street, Mi. location establishing

operations systems with a performance turn around in safety and quality ppm’s that repaired a poor customer

relationship with Ford and led to well performing JIT seating supplier. Negotiated union contracts during initial UAW

phases at both Oberlin and Port Street.

Managed operations planning and execution in safety, quality, production and launch for the Ford Econoline large size van.

Led 8 salaried supervisors and over 200 hourly associates in complete vehicle final assembly and frame line processes
