perform system maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of the ESM system

and the Type 15L periscope system. Taught students how to use maintenance

documentation for troubleshooting.

- Instructed students how to perform RF signal analysis using system test

instrumentation. Taught students aural recognition of RF signals and how to

obtain PW, PRF, PRI, Frequency, Scan time, Scan type, and Signal strength.

- Evaluated submarine qualified technicians for procedural accuracy and

equipment knowledge. Provided feedback and training recommendations to the

ships Commanding Officer.

1999 - 2003, Maintenance Supervisor, USS Tennessee SSBN Gold, Kings Bay, GA

- Selected by the Commanding Officer to supervise and coordinate all

hydraulic, electronic and electrical maintenance work performed on all the

submarines masts and antennas.

been down for seven days. Utilized maintenance documentation and electronic

test instrumentation to perform component level troubleshooting. Repairs

were made by using components from another CCA and soldering them to the

faulty CCA. This system was tested and fully operational in two days.

- Periscope system developed a serious fault causing it to electrically

rotate by itself. Utilized system test procedures, maintenance

documentation, extender cards, oscilloscope, and a digital volt meter to

troubleshoot the problem to a faulty relay not carried onboard.

With the Commanding Officers permission rewired the system to allow for

operation in one direction until repair parts could be obtained.

- Performed soldering repairs to the periscope training handles, RF cables,

electrical cables, amphenol connectors and made electronic repairs to the

ships FURUNO radar system.

- Used QA test procedures to performed hydrostatic pressure testing of

AN/BRA-24 antenna assembly motor to verify system integrity under pressure.

Checked for current calibration of tools and gauges to perform the test.
