EXPERIENCE
2003-2005 Staff nurse in the Emergency Department Mission
Hospitals.
Earned certification in BLS, ACLS, and Trauma Nurse.
1990-2003 Co-owner of R & V Warren Farms Inc. Directly supervised 200
migrant workers. Office duties performed included accounts
payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and shipping of
product.
1978-1994 Staff nurse in the medical intensive care unit and coronary
care unit at the V A Hospital in Oteen, N.C. Worked mainly
on the coronary care side. Certified by the V A Medical system
to intubate in emergency and non-emergency scenarios, swan-
ganz, arterial and cvp catheter set-up, and care of patient
after insertion. Certified to do cardiac output readings, and
the IABP. Earned certification as a Critical Care Nurse (CCRN)
Awarded 3 certificates of outstanding performance. Preceptor
for new RN's and new nurses in critical care. Charge nurse
when working nights and evenings.
1977-1978 Staff nurse on Medical-surgical ward with 34 patients, 17 of
which was new surgeries. Evening and night shift only RN
on the floor.
1973-1974 Worked in AT&T Lab in Richmond Virginia. Tested metal coatings
for
conductivity and metal percentages.
SKILLS
Able to speak, read and write Spanish. Computer literate
with experience in MS Word, Excel and Database.
PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE EXPERIENCE
Clinical practice at Buncombe County Health Department
Pulled patient charts for next clinics. Filed charts after their
return. Recorded request for release of information and
notices of prescription refills. Logged faxes and out going
mail.
Clinical practice at Asheville Cardiology. Introduced to the
EHR. Prepared patient records for faxing and for scanning
into the HER.
