OSHA suit concerning multiple willful violations of the code which
resulted in settling of the suit without a reduction of the fine
initially assessed. Researched law and wrote legal memos on topics
including Occupational Safety and Health Act and ERISA. Drafted legal
documents such as proposed settlements and proposed court orders.

Wrote Amicus Curiae Brief in support of petition for grant of certiorari
in Johnson v. United States, 2007 WL 2589906. Performed research and
prepared research memos for Foundation attorneys in areas including
public land use, inverse condemnation, and the Solomon Amendment.
Prepared legal documents such as Statements of Fact for legal briefs.

Research Associate, 1999 to 2006
Designed and tested protocols for cancer and genetic disease detection.
Lead researcher, responsible for the planning and execution of a variety
of projects. Coordinated work between labs and between shifts. Reported
progress through written updates and weekly presentations. Collaborated
with research and medical labs in San Diego, Austen, Hong Kong, and Los
Angeles. Trained employees in the design and use of new laboratory
techniques. Participated in the design, testing, and trouble shooting of
analytical machines, complex biochemical testing solutions, and software
used in working with DNA. Worked on developing technology for rapid
detection of Human Papilloma, Herpes Simplex, and Hepatitis A viruses.
Worked on a technique to detect both breast and oral cancers from saliva
samples. Worked to develop a less invasive alternative to Amniocentesis
and Chorionic Villus tests.
