Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering

Visveswariya Technological University, Belgaum, India

GPA 3.8/4.0

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

National Institute for Aviation Research

Wichita State University, Wichita, KS

Aug

2007 - May 2009

Research Assistant

Development of Finite Element Model of Aircraft seat for certification

by analysis:

. Modeling of aircraft seat in CATIA.

. Developed finite element model of the geometry in Hypermesh.

. Finite Element Analysis of aircraft seat is carried out in LS Dyna and

MADYMO to certify it in accordance with FAA standards.

MADYMO model for Mass transit Bus:

. Developed the finite element model of driver seat in Hypermesh.

. The finite element seat model is then defined as facet in MADYMO.

. Simulated frontal, side and rear impact with multibody and FE model of

driver.

. Simulations were carried out with 2 point and 3 point seat belts.

. Output Forces were used for Finite Element Analysis of Driver Seat.

Hydrodynamic Impact Analysis on Rigid plate and Leading Edge of

Airplane Wing:

. Modeling of Rigid plate and leading edge of aircraft wing using CATIA.

. Developed the finite element model of the geometry in Hypermesh.

. Analysis is carried out in LS Dyna using SPH Bird model

. Analysis is carried out for leading edge of different nose radius and

results are validated with the test data.

Technical Assistant

Shanta Industries, India

Aug 2005 - Mar 2007

. Training on machine tools and inspected semi finish and finished parts

using measuring instruments.

. Interpret Blue prints of parts to line workers and was involved in

development of flow process charts for machining of components.

. Designed automotive components, read and interpreted drawings and GD&T

and created CAD models

. Created 2D and 3D CAD models, assembly and detail drawings, and bill

of materials for various mechanical components using Solidworks.

. Provide technical information to marketing department and assist them

in making technical presentations.

PROJECTS

. Design and fabrication of Automatic Page Turner:

The project involved the design and fabrication of a device which is

used in turning the page. The device consisted of two DC motors, board

and micro processor. KIEL software was used to programme the micro

processor. The page turner can be used by people who have mobility

problems with the hands.

. Analysis of Cutting Forces, Tool Stresses in High Speed Flat End

Milling Process:

The main objective of this study was to develop a methodology for

simulating cutting process in flat end milling operation and

predicting chip flow, cutting forces, tool stress using 2D chip

deformation model at relatively high speeds. The tool and workpiece

are modeled in MSC Patran and analysis is carried out in LS Dyna.

. Design and Analysis of Racing Bike:

In this project the bicycle is modeled in CATIA and meshed in

Hypermesh. A static load is applied and stress analysis is carried out

in LS Dyna to study its deformation. Based on the results obtained the

design variations are suggested.
