June 2005 to Present: Horticulture Consultant,

I am a consultant for private customers and Green Industry Firms. I design

landscapes, problem solve horticulture and business issues.

February 2008- July 2008: Superintendent, Sun River Golf Course, St.

George, UT employed by The Groundskeeper, Tucson, AZ.

Managed 15-25 employees overseeing management and improvements of 18 hole

golf course.

October 2006 to January. 2008: Manager, Technical Services Division,

Kuplenger's Nursery, Aurora, OR

June 2000 to June 2005

Horticultural Supervisor, Manito Park and Botanical Gardens, City of

Spokane Parks and Recreation, Spokane Washington

Management Duties include hiring, supervision, budget planning and

administration, and purchasing. Horticultural responsibilities include

supervision and consulting to 25 staff and gardeners, garden design and

long term planning of 98 acre Botanical Garden and Park including: Duncan

Annual Gardens, Ferris Perennial Gardens, Rose Hill, Japanese Garden, Lilac

Garden and Gaiser Conservatory, Horticulture and Landscape consulting for

entire parks system. Serve as liaison to: The Friends of Manito, a 700

member non profit support organization: The Associated Garden Clubs, The

Inland Empire (TIE) Dahlia Society, TIE Water Garden and Koi Society, TIE

Iris Society, TIE Orchid Society and the Spokane Rose Society. Work with

these groups in raising funds and in implementing improvements to the park.

Provide educational experiences to staff and the public, including

multimedia and oral presentations.

August 1999 to May 2000

Assistant Professor of Agriculture, University of Tennessee at Martin

Duties included teaching and advising for the landscape Science and

Management Program in the Department of Agriculture. Courses include:

Landscape Management, Landscape Construction, Landscape Design (CAD),

Greenhouse Crops and Management, Horticulture, Landscape Technology and

Ornamental Plant Identification.

November 1996 to July 1999

Horticulturist / Grounds Manager and Assistant Professor University of

Tennessee at Martin:

Duties included managing 8 person ground crew, 12 seasonal grounds workers,

greenhouse, 200 acre campus, design and implementation of landscape

renovations, strategic campus planning and public presentations on

horticulture combined with teaching the Landscape Science and Management

emphasis in the School of Agriculture.

January 1986 to October 1996

President, Blooming Desert Landscape, Tucson, AZ:

Duties included: purchasing, sales, estimating, design, management of 25

employees and horticultural consulting. I was responsible for project

management, quality control and bottom line.

I performed research with Dr. Richard Jensen on "Photosynthesis and

Activity of Ribulose Bisphospate Carboxylase of Wheat and Maize Seedlings
