Key Achievements:
. Negotiated a long term (three year) contract for supplemental
maintenance craft services that resulted in a cost savings of over
$550,000 per year or over $1.5 million over the term of the agreement.
. Re-negotiated an ongoing rental services contract with a 15% reduction
in rental rates that resulted in a cost savings of over $60,000 per
year.
. Led a cross functional team to evaluate alternative sources for
environmental hydro-vacuuming services resulting in qualifying a new
supplier and saving over $350,000 per year.
. Developed, wrote and collaborated the directive to meet document
control requirements by writing process procedures to assist the
refinery in obtaining ISO RC 14001 certification.
. Developed and implemented process improvement project for department
clerk to track and

As a commodity analyst for rotating equipment, pumps, motors, turbines, and
associated parts, determine optimum stocking levels and establish
appropriate re-order points to maintain and meet established service level
criteria for process equipment, critical spares, and maintenance items for
the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station. Locate, source, and expedite non-
traditional, highly specialized materials and items for emergencies and
unexpected shut downs ensuring appropriate documented certifications,
quality specifications, and standards were met.
Key Achievements:
. Through optimization of on-hand inventory levels using ABC analysis
and increasing inventory turns, achieved on hand inventory reductions
of assigned commodity items by over $750,000 while maintaining a
ninety-eight percent (98%) service level fill rate.
. Key team member for project to outsource low dollar ($1,000 or less)
readily available MRO classified items. This included item
identification to put on bid list and source selection of qualified
bidders.
. Prevented a plant shutdown that would have cost the company $1M a day
by creatively locating and procuring highly specialized filters that
were not available from the manufacturer and had a two week minimum
expedited lead time.
. Persuaded Project Engineer to re-evaluate and change his
specifications for electrical conduit to an alternative manufacturer
that resulted in a 97% reduction in the cost of the conduit required.
. Audited inventory activity of an electric motor requested for purchase
that resulted in locating an identical motor that was not used by
maintenance waiting to be returned to stock. Total cost savings over
$20,000.
. Located an equipment specific OEM circuit board as a surplus item at
another nuclear plant that saved two weeks in lead time and cost
savings of 66% compared to ordering from the OEM.
