In this section students learn Law Enforcement tactic's for when and
where force can be used, the amount of force that can be applied

In this section students learn and understand criminal statutes as they
relate to criminal charges that a Fugitive Recovery Agent must know and
understand so that the agent himself/herself does not go to jail.
"Firearms and Weapons"
In this section the student studies the laws as they relate to what
weapons are legal and/or illegal to use and/or carry while acting in the
capacity of a Fugitive Recovery Agent. Even though these laws may change
from town to town or state to state, the student will have the knowledge
of where to go to find out the law in any area where they may be pursuing
a fugitive.
"Seizure and Entry"
In this section the student will learn when, where, and who they may
detain or arrest and where and when they may enter a residence, building
or any other structure to locate and arrest a fleeing fugitive. This
section is based on the concept of (Probable Cause) and the totality of
circumstances as established in the Supreme Court decision known as
Taylor V. Taintor.
"Prisoner Transport and Jail Relations"
In this section the students learn the proper procedures for transporting
prisoners and proper procedures for dealing with jail personnel.
. Basic Public Information Officer Certification;
Course certification focuses on the emphasis on the basic skills and
knowledge needed for emergency management public information activities.
Topics include the role of the PIO in emergency management, conducting
awareness campaigns, news release writing, public speaking, and
television interviews. Course is qualified for POST, EMS, GFA and Georgia
Firefighters Standards and Training Council continuing education credit.
. OSHA Level 1 Hazardous Materials Awareness Certification;
An eight-hour course designed to provide all first responders with the
OSHA Level I awareness training for hazardous materials. Participants are
introduced to the problems associated with responding to or discovering
hazardous materials incidents. Skills taught include recognizing,
identification, emergency planning, and resource identification. Course
is qualified for POST, EMS, GFA and Georgia Firefighters Standards and

. Standard Awareness Training Of Weapons Of Mass Destruction Certification;
Eight-hour course focuses on training responders to meet the requirements
established in the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 472,
Chapter 4, "Competencies for Awareness Level Personnel," and the
Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 29 Code of Federal
Regulations (CFR) 1910.120 (q) (6) (i) (a-f) "First Responder Awareness
Level" competencies.
This course takes an all-hazards approach to Hazardous Materials (HazMat)
incidents, including acts of terrorism where Weapons of Mass Destruction
(WMD) materials may have been used. It provides participants the
knowledge to recognize the hazardous material, protect themselves, notify
others, and secure the scene. Further topics in this course includes
understand recognition, avoidance, isolation, and notification techniques
for explosive devices when used as WMDs. Prevention and deterrence,

. Rescue Specialist Certification
A 14-hour course designed to train rescue personnel in the basics of
rescue techniques. The course covers unit organization, search and rescue

Firefighters Standards and Training Council continuing education credit.

Four-hour ICS/EOC Interface course is offered through the Georgia
Emergency Management Agency (GEMA)and is designed to illustrate to

the advantages and need for integrating incident command system (ICS) and
emergency operations center (EOC) operations. Participants will review

Certification
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program educates individuals
about disaster preparedness and trains and organizes teams of volunteers
that can support their communities during disasters. The CERT Program

light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations. The course
