Logistics Manager, Operations Support, Lansing, MI (2005- 2010)

Managed nine UAW Union locations throughout U.S. (largest site has 2

million sq-ft warehouse and over 1000 employees). Focuses on safety, health

and security.

Develops and conducts training, investigations, tracking and reporting

of all accidents and injuries. Scope covers 250 drivers and over 1000

warehouse employees.

Coordinated workers' compensation, prepared MIOSHA/OSHA 300 logs and

developed care plans that enabled employees to get back to work more

quickly.

Planned closure of warehouse facilities, which cut costs 20% below

budget.

Supervised construction and start-up for 3 warehouse operations that

supported General Motors Assembly Plants (3 million sq-ft total), and

conducted new employee safety orientation training and refresher training

for diverse work force including 1300 employees involved in both sides of

business (warehousing and transportation).

Managed maintenance teams for two 455,000 sq-ft warehouses in union

environment. Provided just in time (JIT) delivery of auto parts to General

Motors.

Achieved improvements by applying TQM methodologies that improved quality

and service.

Led initiatives that resulted in $400,000 per year cost reductions,

for example, Cut annual energy costs by over $100,000 for each facility,

Performed internal ISO Audits within all areas of the warehouse

operations, which resulted in seven years of continual improvement and

Produces custom air handling systems with special expertise serving

automotive industry. Project Manager

Represented TM as project manager on company's most important project ($4

million revenue), which supplied all air-supply houses (HVAC) to new Ford

truck plant in Ontario, Canada. Performed maintenance, that kept HVAC units

running.

Achieved $20,000 cost savings by maintaining newly installed equipment

without incurring expense from importing-company maintenance teams.
