Director of Finance - Travelport 2007-2009
Successfully lead a diverse management team with the two year goal of
reducing operating costs by $45 million and the elimination of the global
Telecommunications network. The project was completed on time and $8
million ahead of the company established cost savings objective.
Provided the overall Financial Management role for the Information
Technology (IT) organization. Responsibilities include oversight of the
monthly accounting process, financial analysis including capital and
strategic planning.
Director of Financial Planning & Analysis - Cendant 2000-2007
Financial accountability for a large Telecom organization providing network
services to 28 Cendant Business Units in a shared services environment
($140 million expense budget). Supported by a staff of twenty accounting
and financial professionals including international staff. In addition, to
normal Financial Reporting duties, responsibilities included Sarbanes-Oxley
audits and submissions, monthly balance sheet (GAAP), cash flow management,
transfer pricing and reporting packages for Corporate and Business Unit
review as well as oversight for the implementation of a new Oracle
Accounting package. Significant financial modeling and sensitivity
analysis experience including Activity Based costing of transactional based
data to understand financial trends and business operations.
Coordinated the development of long-range strategies and financial
deliverables for the international telecommunications start-up subsidiary
of the Cendant Corporation. Provided value-added financial planning and
analysis utilizing complex models required for valuation and merger and
acquisition purposes.
Controller, Data Center Services - Galileo International 1997-2000
Accountable for the overall financial management of one of the largest
private data centers in the U.S. (annual expense plan in excess of $70
million, capital budget of $40 million). Responsibilities included the
development of the annual capital and expense plans, monthly forecasts,
monthly accounting close process and third party hosting revenue
opportunities. Evaluation of large capital projects utilizing pro forma
P&L, cash flow, balance Sheet projections, NPV, ROI, IRR and margin
optimization reports.
Controller, Data Center Services - Galileo International - continued
Identified and implemented cost saving initiatives of over $10 million
annually which were made possible by leveraging key business and
operational cost drivers throughout the organization (savings achieved in
manpower, software, equipment maintenance and selective outsourcing).
Successfully led a large data center migration project. Established a
financial and operational dashboard and scorecard for internal reporting
and external benchmarking purposes.
